Ivan Salaverry (sp)

Where is this guy? The last I saw of him, he triangled Riggs. He impressed me with that win (poise, technique, etc). I'd like to see him in the UFC again.

DiscoNfrno is correct but he should be given another shot..The dude has mad skillz

His spine lock on Fryklund was awesome!

Ivan Salaverry said that the UFC is interested in bringing him back in 2006...

ttt for Ivan

He had an off night (to put it lightly) against Marquardt, but he's definitely an entertaining fighter that deserves another shot.

Ivan has skills

he jusy never showed them at the worst possible time

ON FREE TV..

I agree. I like his style. Salaverry's damn slick, calm, and collected.

I thought both he and Marquardt looked puzzled. Salaverry said he felt like he was 'fighting his shadow' or something, and it showed. Unfortunate, but sometimes fights go weird like that. If you want to see good Ivan Salaverry, watch his fight with Andrei Semenov.

I talked to him all the time. He would love more than anything to have that Nate fight back. He said he showed to much respect and that cost him. He is working on opening his own gym right now.

ICEE,

Any idea what city his gym will be in?

When Zuffa gives you the opportunity on national television to showcase your skills in front of millions and you decide to present one of the worst fights ever in the UFC then I have little sympathy for you.

It would have been one thing if Ivan had gotten beat by going for something crazy and getting caught with a sub or by KO but he refused to attempt anything and turned off a lot of potential fans in the get go.

If you want to freeze up don't do it in the main event of the first ever Ultimate Fight Night on free tv.

It's not like Ivan is a rookie he's a seasoned fighter whose fought in many UFC's.

I would have dropped him to if I was Zuffa. It's one thing to have a bad night while trying to be entertaining. Another to stage the second Shamrock/Severn II on the first free MMA fight card (other than TUF 1 finals) on tv ever.

I would definitely like to see Salavery back in the UFC. I agree that he had an off night against Marquadt. He impressed me with his other fights though.

In Seattle. Kinda by the West Seattle bridge area I think, or in the area between that and Qwest/Safeco Fields.

He is going to be in Seattle.

Please tell me his school will be on the eastside. please.

"Isn't Ivan Canadian ?

Couldn't they bring him back for UFC58 "

Lol.

I like to see Salaverry blowing kisses into the crowd after he wins.

Rumor has it that his school will likely be in the SODO area of Seattle... south of downtown near the baseball and football stadiums.

Great fighter. I definately want to see him back.

damn it

The reality is, is that in this sport there will always be off days for fighters. It's hard to get your training perfect and to peak at the right time. sometimes you just have bad days, not only game day but also in the gym. Sometimes in the gym you walk in and it feels like you should turn around and walk back out the door. Other days your ready to take on the world. It's just how it is. I think that it's stupid promoters cut a fighter for having a bad day especially when they have had numerouse exciteing experiences. I don't know maybe people need to understand the sport more and how unconsistant someones performance can be....
