J. Delucia never King of Pancrase?

Opash asked "Was there a back story to Royce vs DeLucia?"

Jason took the Gracie Challenge and that's why he fought Royce in Royce's dojo. After that, Jason says, a friend of Rickson's taught him a lot so he'd make a good account of himself. Jason was invited to fight in UFC; everyone knew that if things went well he'd fight Royce, that was no surprise and didn't bother any of them.

There were never any hard feelings, and there's no grudge. Royce held the UFC 2 armbar long just to make sure the refs didn't miss it since he'd had trouble with other fighters.

So the backstory is that nothing bad was going on, just good stuff with fighters respecting each other.

Oh there he is with a hinge kick, what the fuck is a hinge kick

What is with all the Jason Delucia bashing lately ?

jason is in, in action 1 with royce

That interview was really entertaining....

Not sure quite what you meant, but the Royce/Jason dojo challenge fight is in "Gracie Jiu Jitsu in Action II" if that's what you were talking about.

Jason has an upcoming match against "Cyborg" Evangelista.

"Jason has an upcoming match against "Cyborg" Evangelista"

I have always liked Delucia, but Cyborg will be a tad bit to much for him imo. Hope im wrong though

I think it's pretty cool he went around and did challenges, etc. A pioneer.

Doesn't he teach combat Aikido now? He has a tape set out. Or am I fucking dreaming?

His Combat Akido was too deadly for the ring.

"Doesn't he teach combat Aikido now? He has a tape set out."

Yes he does teach his style of Aikido ("Combat Aikido") and has a DVD set from Century.

"His Combat Akido was too deadly for the ring."

Ha ha -- I though it was just the ninjas and shaolin monks who don't fight because their stuff is too deadly. Jason's happy to fight.

Is this the guy that was complaining about Bas in some of their fights?

And subsequently gets a "LIVER!" shot, that puts him out?
