I'd like to see him against Rory myself. Despite the new name I'm wearing, I don't have anything particular against Shields and he would be a good test to see where Rory is at and a loss wouldn't completely derail Rory either.

Put him with a striker. Putting him with another grappler isn't great entertainment value, and I'm all about grappling. Lombard would be cool. Give him a chance to avenge his loss to Ellenberger. Condit.

That's a #1 contender. Most likely Condit vs. Rory if they both win. But what then? Only smooth future is if Hendricks beats GSP. Lots could go wrong with that plan with all those beasts fighting, though. Bold predictions :

You think I didn't know Jake beat Okami? Okami is a better offensive wrestler but not a fantastic defensive wrestler. Okami is a lot more physical and more physically strong. Jakes definitely a better grappler. Jake couldn't take down Ellenburger he's not taking down Lombardi

It's tough to base this on any one fight. Jake also took Dan Henderson down at will. By this logic he should be able to take down anyone at 170.
Dan Henderson doesn't have the best leg take down defense. He has been taken down by almost everyone else beaten him. So no.

Call him what you want but he is a nightmare for anyone, especially at welter weight and he's awesome at doing what he does.
