Underreem now imho

Dude was scary beefed up but the twig reem from pride was skilled he just didn’t really care about defense like most of that roster. Strikeforce/dream reem was a monster.

In!

Too bad his chin was deteriorating by the time he got to the UFC.

A belt there would have made him one of the GOATS.
He would have taken Jones IMO.

Hell yeah. Looking forward to this one.

This is my second favorite podcast right now after LytesOut.

Rampage is great. TJ is a great co host too. I could do without Luke though lol

Awesome podcast, loved it. Rampage continues to crack me up, one of the best hosts ever.

He destroyed Jones in training and he had to postpone his fight with DC.

Yeah man. That part was sad to hear.

When he did that interview where he’d first lost all the weight he was talking about taking her to Japan to try to help her because she was really depressed.

I can’t imagine going through that as a father.

Great pod. Some takeaways:

-Rampage’s cohost Bear looks like a dummy when he tells every guest it seems that they are the most requested guest

-Alistair said he has had 94 fights total

-Said Werdum was his toughest opponent

-When asked the best fighters ever the first name was Fedor. Always cool to see

-Talked about how the level in Kickboxing today is lower than it was before which I’ve beaten that dead horse enough but cool to see his perspective

-Alistair sounds incredibly articulate still given all his wars and losses. As a big fan of his it’s great to see him doing well after decades at the top of multiple combat sports… simultaneously

-His honesty about his daughters and the affect social media and cell phones had on them while he was often absent fighting overseas. Him not respecting his daughters new pronouns is one way to handle it lol

I met the Reem in a bar in Dublin after first ever UFC held there-he had just recently knocked out Badr Hari in K1 and was surprised how i had known about that after congratulating him!

He was really cool and friendly to be around, i asked him about Shoguns lacklustre victory that night over Mark Coleman and he spoke about how when they fought in Pride he was in great shape but gassed out, Shogun didn’t so he was convinced he was on roids!

The Reem was in peak horse meat mode so i would take his opinion on a fighter taking steroids seriously!:100:

Pretty cool overall, he was always a good interview even when he was competing but he was pretty in denial calling Bob Sapp and Wandy the roided up guys, cant remember the actual term he used. Pretty interesting perspective he had on the game coming from Holland though and KB and transitioning to MMA.

Him and Luke were totally on the gut health anti-inflamation crusade.

To add…he said Werdum was the toughest due to his strategies, trickiness and rounded game i believe.

Said KB is dying cuz there are no more big shows. Perhaps One is the big show now as it combines KB, MT and MMA on a big show. Not sure if on his radar as he wasnt too aware of the China shows Izzy and Perreira fought in and One doesnt have the big weight KBers but they are kinda like the new K1 Max with the top lower weight fighters, esp the Thais.

I always remember the Reem was articulate back in the days but yeah good point, still so after all the damage.

His daughter could be a legit trans, consider that. We dont know. Yes social media is a cancer in numerous ways period but trans people existed before it and so did gays. We kinda got over the homophobia a while back…although ex-skinheads like Strickland wanna bring it back.

Btw i just started looking thru the Lytes Out Podcast and wow they got quite the lineup as well although a bit more old school and Jaxxon does only do in person which i think is cool too, def makes a difference but its still cool to get people thru Zoom if its not possible to get them in person. Both incredible MMA lineups.
