Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez are scheduled to fight on December 29 for the UFC Heavyweight Championship.

In an interview with TATAME the Brazilian says the fight is on, the contract is not signed, Cain deserves the shot, and that sometime he is going to tap someone out.

“I really don’t go out there fingering people, so it doesn’t matter who I’m fighting next," said dos Santos. "They have chosen Cain Velasquez… I haven’t signed the contract but there’s gotta be it. I guess he’s the number two of the division. Of course that, as a champion, I’m number one, but I’m sure he comes right next to me and I guess he deserves this rematch he’s having."

“It’s a good fight and everybody expects a war even because when it comes to conditioning and preparation Cain Velasquez is one to look up to. I’m sure it’s going to be a good fight for all MMA fans. I hope I get off there with the knockout again. That’s my main goal when I fight: knock my opponent out."

“I know more or less how he behaves inside the cage. Of course it’s a different fight, so I hope to get more and more prepared for it. I feel like I’m still evolving. Each day that goes by I learn more and I was injured when I first fought Velasquez. Next time I’m sure both him and me are going to try to implement our game and I really wanna show I’m the number one among the heavyweight fighters."

“What I can tell you is what I’ve been doing on my preparation. I guess he’s trying to take me down anyway he can and, since I prefer to stand-up, I’ll try to keep actions up and go for the knockout again. I’m very well prepared, training a lot of ground game too and who knows? If he takes me down maybe I can submit him. After all, I train Jiu-Jitsu a lot and, as a Brazilian, someday I’ll submit someone."

RyannVonDoom - Uh.. I'd hope he didnt finger people in the octagon. Gross. Phone Post

This is really the more pressing piece of info from this interview... Should be the title. Phone Post

Fingering aside, what happens to Cain should he lose again to JDS which has an extremely high chance of happening?

Even if Cain takes down JDS, which in of itself is a tough task since nobody's ever done it, like JDS said, he's got BJJ as well and he's prepared for it. But since JDS is the "Chuck Liddell of Heavyweight", I think it's gonna be a KO again since it'll be less riskier.

I say Cain needs to move down to 205 should he lose to JDS again. I mean he looks like the size of 205 guys like Ryan Bader, Kyle Kingsbury, etc. and would make the division more interesting and obviously a superfight with Jon Jones would be massive. Moreover his teammate Daniel Cormier is coming into the UFC after his Frank Mir fight, and they said they don't wanna fight each other.

JDS is the man. I think he's gonna stay champ for a while. Phone Post

Junior, it's okay, just keep on knocking people out.

I didn't know you could tap someone out after you already knocked them out cold. Phone Post

lol @ fingering people

lol someone tell him what fingering could mean. I bet he'll laugh about it.

Maybe tapout to strikes

Yes fingering people in the octagon has become a big problem in the UFC. I think refs should smell fingers between rounds to make sure nobody is slipping a sly one up there during the fight. Fair play to JDS though, he's a true champion. He doesn't take steroids & he doesn't finger his opponents.

Seriously how can you not adore him?

It's tough to submit someone when your hands are just too powerful.

If Jon ever fights this guy it could be his last fight.

Word

MarcusRenatoBlackBelt - I think he can outwrestle velasquez. His TDD is questionable since Brock took him down at will .. JDS took down carwin, a champion, easily , twice.

I see JDS defensive wrestling improving and his offensive wrestling is very good.

You're a horrible troll and your schtick is god awful.
