Really, he's an awesome fighter, and very exciting, but his name just screams "bland".

Appearences matter. People will never get exciting about seeing "Jim Miller" on the main card, but Jim Tthe Cannibal Miller or "Jim The Honey Badger Miller - maybe.

Unless you're blessed with a name like George St.Pierre or Alistair Overeem, getting a cool nickname is clearly a good marketing move imo.

THIS. Every athlete doesn't need a gimmick, because every fan doesn't like athletes who have gimmicks. There are plenty of fans who like fighters that just work hard and finish fights. They don't need them to have a signature celebration or hairstyle or nickname, they just appreciate watching them do what they do best.
