I watched that video and he made a very good point about technique, saying that these guys aren't real martial artists because they don't use proper technique. It's ironic because all the non contact and semi contact practice of martial arts is in effect pretty useless unless in a real situation. Sports fighting may look less smooth or correct in technique but I bet you put a high level martial artist that has never fought in a real situation with someone else well versed and you watch that smooth correct technique go out the window pretty quick
The guy in the video demonstrates how he uses technique for his armbar, but the dude in the video with him basically punches in between the old mans legs and holds his arm there for the guy to grab and armbar. That shows me nothing
I'm about 60% sure it's a troll. I watched his other video and his kung fu technique looked pretty bad. Although, he is an older gentleman, almost too old to troll.

This come to 10th Planet stuff is bullshit. Why would an old man come to his gym? Why would an old man that was doing martial arts when Joe was shitting in diapers come to HIM? He's supposed to be showing respect, even in disagreement. A teacher can criticize any student, any time. He need only supply his own student to prove his point. But you don't ask the old man to fight. I can't recall Joe challenging a fighter in their prime to a fight. Why Not? We all know why.

By the way, I see that he's half joking, but he isn't joking when he calls Kung Fu nonsense. My thing, is go fight a Kung Fu dude then. That would put things to bed eh? Go fight a high level Kung Fu guy. Maybe he wins, maybe he loses. But You can't challenge someone's martial arts then ask them to come to you to prove themselves.
