TwentyNineTwentyEight -No one said it was a fluke. Just made an observation that the reason MM won was because he had better cardio that night.subwrassler - dodson can and will beat him eventually..
rematch is inevitable..no one else will beat dodson
it'll be like jds/cain imo
Their 1st fight was no fluke win for MM. It was a great performance by both but it was obvious who had won.
1. Dodson dropped MM twice not three times. MM took shots that have put other guys out cold, recovered immediately and finished the fight strong.
2. Dodson only "gassed" after MM took him into the clinch and started beating the shit about him.
3. MM improves after every fight and has a solid team. I seriously doubt that he'll make the mistake of following Dodson around and walking into his counters again.
If they rematch, I see MM getting the stoppage.
GayGuardMooseSaucy - Didn't he take an illegal knee that wasn't called? I think Dodson can beat him, the variable is that MM is becoming an INCREDIBLE fighter.
RE the knee, Dodson was playing the game by putting his hand down on the mat. I've noticed that McCarthy and Dean aren't sympathetic to guys who do that.
.
I don't understand why he hasn't gotten a rematch yet.
Rudi -Thread title isn't a guessing statement, it's you telling us it'll happen, baby.yellow wrkahlc is dead - You really are sure who can/can't beat who lately. Thanks boo. Just a prediction just like everyone else make.
It's cute.

Rudi -Chromium -I don't think anyone is overlooking him. The problem is he's only had one fight since his loss to MM and it's gonna take a bit more than that to earn a rematch.
<span class="User-326945" id="userPost49339648">Who else would get the title shot though? And dodson is ranked as the number one contender. <img alt="Phone Post 3.0" border="0" src="/images/phone/droid.png" style="vertical-align:middle;" /></span></blockquote>
Right now Bagautinov is next, as he should be.
Dodson is currently booked against Moraga in what should be a fun fight that should produce a highly credible winner.
Brad Pickett, who was a popular Bantamweight who holds a win over MM, is clearly getting fast-tracked and should be the challenger-after-next if he beats Ian McCall, and Zach Makovsky is also surging right now and is a credible alternative with one more win should Pickett lose. Bringing in Dodson for an early rematch should he beat Moraga is probably option #3 and bringing in Moraga for an early rematch is option #4. Otherwise, Dodson will need two more wins, and that's a fight the UFC can definitely build up to if they give Dodson the credibility of picking up a few wins before returning against Johnson.
The fact that "he's the #1 contender" doesn't mean much if you've already had your shot recently and it wasn't a controversial loss. You still need to get in line again. Not at the back, but you're no longer at the front.
Rudi -Paulinethepope - I'd give a lot more of a shit about the division if Dodson was champion.Honestly the only guys in the division i really care to see is<br /> <br /> 1. Dodson<br /> 2. Mighty Mouse<br /> 3. Joesph benivedez<br /> <br /> They need to bring in more 125 talent. <img alt="Phone Post 3.0" border="0" src="http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/images/phone/droid.png" style="vertical-align:middle;" /></blockquote>
The UFC has a higher percentage of the world's top talent at Flyweight than they do in literally any other division. They have roughly the entire Top 15 in the world and arguably 19 of the Top 20 (Alexis Vila is the loan exception, and he's 43 years old). They cannot say this about any other division. Other than more people dropping down from Bantamweight, there is really no one else they can bring in except more prospects, and even some of the prospects they have that aren't technically in the Top 20 are badass (see Louis Smolka).
Just who are you suggesting they bring in? Do you actually have any names to suggest? I mean, I can think of a few dudes, but not one who would make a serious impact. Who did you have in mind?
As it is, lack of actual talent isn't the issue, it's exposure, and they're doing a decent job of raising that up lately.
subwrassler - dodson can and will beat him eventually..Agreed.. MM and Dodson are by far the best in the division, no matter how much I wanna see a Creepy title win!

Their first fight would have been a majority draw if the ref would have taken a point from MM for kicking Dodson in the nuts 18 times.

I tend to agree. If anyone beats MM, it's Dodson
Dodson has easily the best shot of anyone at 125 IMO, but I'd still favor MM. The factors I wonder about are:
1) Dodson was winning until he got destroyed in the clinch. He was lost, he clearly had virtually zero MT clinch experience. Improving this aspect of his game should be pretty easy. So that's a big plus for Dodson.
2) But MM is improving too, which is incredible for a fighter who was already so good.
3) I think MM will also adjust the tactics that led to Dodson dropping him twice.
Overall I really don't know if Dodson would have a better shot in the rematch, or a worse one.
VitorpeepeetasteStrongTRT - I don't understand why he hasn't gotten a rematch yet.I actually like when the UFC doesn't rush into rematches. I think they've handled this division pretty well
hey rudi your thread sucks
OnlyTheStrongSurvive -This. Flyweight is so thin, let them both get some fights. Look at how marketable MM is now compared to before.VitorpeepeetasteStrongTRT - I don't understand why he hasn't gotten a rematch yet.I actually like when the UFC doesn't rush into rematches. I agree but I readout want to see him fave Joe b
BobSherob - He is just as exciting as Mighty Mouse and I look forward to their rematch.I was big on Benavidez after watching his last few fights, the dude is an animal. So technical, well versed and smart.
I thought Dodson was going to get destroyed in the first fight and was pleasantly surprised.
The only problem is that mm seems to be getting better and better aswell, which is scary at that weight.
Then MM while barely getting hit , KOs him cold like he was the average journey men. WHAT IN ALL FUCK.
Have Benovedez(sp?) and Dodson foughr yet? If not.... make it happen! :)
Ben Saunders - Have Benovedez(sp?) and Dodson foughr yet? If not.... make it happen! :)
The problem there is that if Joe B wins, he's set up for another title shot...and a 3rd fight with MM would be a tough sell.
Dodson will probably not be matched up with Joe B because it's too risky. A Dodson rematch is much more sellable, and other than MM, Joe B has the best shot at beating Dodson.
