We never thought of Magomed Ankalaev going up to heavyweight. He just won the title. He defeated Chama! Jon Jones will always be known for his career at light heavyweight. That’s where Jon Jones was great, that’s where he was the best.
Since Jon moved up to heavyweight we have not seen a dominant champion like Jones. We may never see such a great light heavyweight. Jon Jones was the greatest.
There was a hunger in Jones that we do not see anymore. Only 2 fights in five years for the great champion. Magomed has had fights with the best in the UFC in the past five years eventually becoming a title shot.
Let’s just say Magomed who is 6’3 and has a big frame decided to take his chances at heavyweight versus the greatest of all time Jon Jones. I’m sure he would love the opportunity.
