Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic

This fight is set for UFC 295.

Jones is still heavily hyped and was even called the GOAT again by the UFC after the Ciryl Gane win. Jon was so great that he was able to vacate the UFC light heavyweight title. A division he dominated since 2011 when he smashed Shogun Rua.

Now at heavyweight the world expects perfection from Jones. The thing is he’s in a division where there is no perfection. There has never really been a dominant heavyweight in the UFC, the closest man to that was Stipe Miocic. A champion that actually defended his title and that by itself is rare or just hasn’t been done that much. Francis Ngannou defended his title once before parting ways with the UFC but Stipe defended his title four times, three times on his first reign and once on his second.

Can Jon Jones set the new standard for what a great heavyweight can be in MMA? Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic is just that, a battle between the two greatest fighters at heavyweight. The question is can Jon Jones prove dominant over and over again like he did at light heavyweight.

Regardless this is the biggest UFC heavyweight fight of all time. These two finally collide and Miocic is forty years old. Jones will be the younger man at 35. Jon Jones should still have a while to go. Jones is fighting for his legacy while Stipe is really trying to take that from him. If Stipe can take Jon Jones out who actually has a little of experience in the division, Stipe will win the biggest fight of his career and retain the UFC title. Will Stipe Miocic retire right there or will he have fun as what will be the baddest man on the planet but this time will be more bigger beating the great Jon Jones something that has never been done.
