Jon "Bones" Jones vs. Anthony "Rumble" Johnson
Could this be the most exciting match up we have ever seen in the UFC? They are both supremely gifted athletes, Although Rumble bas been in other orgs, hes a UFC veteran and he certainly has knockout power. Bones is, in my opinion, the most talented fighter they have ever had in the UFC. Both are now at 205 lbs. Johnson just destroyed a top 5 guy and barely broke a sweat doing it.
Next up is Jones vs. Gustavson. If Jones wins this, and Rubmle beats his next opponent, we could have a wild fight to look forward to. Although, I will admit, the odds are that based on how they match up, someone gets KO'd quickly, or it turns into a wrestling match with very few strikes.
Thoughts?
Jones takes Johnson out easily. Wrestles him for 3 rounds and tko's him in the 4th or 5th

Not so sure. Phil Davis was an all American and Rumble made him look silly.
Johnson's eyes are screaming no right now.
The difference between Jones and Davis is that Jones' strikes actually make opponents move and he isn't afraid to actually wade in and do damage. Davis' strikes are only there as a distraction at best.
Once Jones is able to land some strikes (outside of Rumble's range), takedowns open up a bit more.
I'm not saying Jones is a lock, but I don't think Phil Davis is a good comparison.
The same guy Kos beat? No, Jones kills him. Will look just like the Glover fight. What does Rumble have to offer that he didn't?
This fight would be awesome. The people on here saying Jones runs through Johnson easy, you need to stop being so fucking stupid
MillhouseMMA - The same guy Kos beat? No, Jones kills him. Will look just like the Glover fight. What does Rumble have to offer that he didn't?
Size, speed, athleticism, better stand up, better wrestling. Glover is great but he throws a very low number of kicks, the se right and left hook combo every time, etc. Rumble would create a ton of problems for Jones
Jones would split his head in half with an elbow. Rd 3

Of everything you mentioned, Rumble only has better standup and that's negated by Jones' reach. Jones is better in all those other areas, and wrestling? Really? How many times does Rumble ever attempt a takedown in a fight? It's also easier to stuff a TD when you know that's all your opponent had and wants to do, like Davis. But Jones is an entirely different animal.

Like really, you think Rumble is bigger, stronger, faster, and more athletic? Maybe a tad faster but THAT'S IT.

True, but Phil also only went for single legs, doubles and high C's. Jon can get him down with trips and throws into better positions on the ground. Long limbs are huge advantage

Hes saying that he he's bigger stronger faster more athletic with better standup and has better wrestling than Glover.

KO's beat him at 170. Rumble was clearly depleted severely. That's not a fair comparison.
