Jones would have done the same thing to Ngannou

Look how easily Jones took Stipe down and manhandled him with GNP

Jones would have done the same thing to Ngannou, even worse.

It would have been easier.

Everyone knows the real test for Jones at HW in the UFC is Aspinall. Stipe was great in his day but at 42, coming off a KO loss and not having won a fight in 4+ years the odds were against him.

If that was the case, why’d he do everything in his power to avoid him for 3+ years?

Ngannou would not be an easy fight for Jones but we’ll never know how it would play out so why speculate!

Speculation is kinda what sites like this are for. But I agree Francis is nothing like stipe. This tells us zero.
I say jones Francis is 50/50 but jones won’t the 50/50 fights.
He had years to face Francis and now he won’t face new top heavy Tom. And I suppose he never will

Can’t Dana make him fight the #1 contender Aspinall?

Dans can’t force Jones to face him. John just beat maybe the #2 contender in Gane and the last champ before Francis left in Stipe.
John could most likely choose someone else for a fight before Tom as long as he’s ranked or Perriera.
Pererrira is the safest fight for jones and most likely what he’ll do.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Tom starts saying he wants out of his contract. If John faces pereira next it’ll be a good year and a half before Tom gets a shot or they consider stripping John.
Threatening to leave and publicly ripping the UFC & Dana may be the only chance Tom has to motivate Dana to tell John he’s facing Tom next or his stripped. I doubt it would work but it’s worth a shot.

Why doesn’t John want to fight him?

Tom is a big heavyweight with excellent wrestling, jiu jitsu and striking-Jones doesn’t want that smoke!:100:

That’s why he’s calling out Alex-much easier fight against a smaller guy he can take down and finish with ease!

He can (and will IMO) strip Jones of his title if he refuses to face the interim champion.

Dana has made it clear Jones has to go through Aspinall if he wants to fight Pereira for the HW title.

Jones got his fun/legacy fight against Miocic. Now he has to fight the interim champion (or vacate).

UFC CEO Dana White said Friday he’d grant Jon Jones’ wish of a superfight against Alex Pereira if the heavyweight champion faces and beats Tom Aspinall…

He added: “You can’t just wanna do a fun fight and not fight the interim heavyweight champion, the guy who’s next. If Jon Jones retired on Saturday, Tom Aspinall would be the heavyweight champion.”

He can (and will IMO) strip Jones of his title if he refuses to face the interim champion.

But he can’t. He can strip John but the title isn’t everything,

Jones will retire before fighting Aspinall which sucks for us as fans but nobody can force him to fight a guy who he clearly doesn’t think he can defeat!

You seemed to be suggesting Jones could keep the title and fight Pereira. I’m saying the only way that happens is if he fights Aspinall first. Of course Jones can (and says he will if he doesn’t get F.U. money) vacate the title to avoid Aspinall. If he does it will be interesting to see if Pereira would rather fight Jones in a “fun fight” or Aspinall for the HW title.

This is why Jones wants to fight Pereira:

I believe you sre correct, many will disagree and I think Francis has a damn good chance of catching him. What I do think the cool thing about the Jones vs Ngannou fight is that it brings old school energy where you genuinely dont know what will happen. I could see Jones scampering towards the center of the octagon on all fours the way he approached Jackson.

Its so weird to me that Conors fights and Jake Paul fights are the best selling fights or most people watching. The energy is fabricated. Theres no showmanship, respect for your fellow competitor, just anything they can so to sell a fight.

The energy that was present at early UFC events or Pride events was inspiring and frightening. Its created with fights like Jones vs Ngannou. Dana hates Francis too much so idk if we would ever see that now.

anyone know how many fights does Bones have left of his contract??

he has quite a few, he will never go through them from what I remember so hes stuck in the UFC…

I wish Ngannou would come back to the UFC.

He got already got his tens of millions from boxing. If he stays in the PFL, that shows he is ducking Jones.

Phil De Fries might beat em all.
