Former U.S. Olympic wrestler Jordan Oliver will make his highly anticipated Bellator debut at Bellator 298 later this year.

MMA Junkie was the first to report the news of Oliver’s scheduled debut on August 12th.

Oliver will face Andrew Triolo (0-1) at Bellator 298 in Sioux Falls, S.D. He’s been training for the past four months at Kill Cliff FC to prepare for his MMA debut.

Oliver signed with Bellator back in March after beginning his training at Kill Cliff FC. He’ll compete as a featherweight to begin his Bellator tenure.

Jordan Oliver Set To Make MMA Debut At Bellator 298

Triolo made his MMA debut at LFA 128 in April 2022, losing by first-round TKO. He has no amateur MMA experience on his record.

Oliver won two collegiate wrestling national championships during his four-year stint at Oklahoma State. He was a four-time NCAA Division-I All-American before being named to the 2020 U.S. Olympic National Team.

Bellator 298 is headlined by a welterweight matchup between former Bellator interim welterweight champion Logan Storley against Brennan Ward. Former Bellator heavyweight champion Valentin Moldavsky will also return against Steve Mowry in the co-main event.

Jordan is a badass. He is exactly the kind of wrestler who will do very good in MMA. I actually have a really funny story about him. For a while he was at ASU training with the Sunkist RTC. So I was at a bar watching the McGregor/Mendes fight and JO was sitting with the same group of friends who invited me out. Afterwards we walked over to another bar, I think there was some girl handing out free shot coupons. So I walked over there with him, another guy I know and Tyrell Fortune, who was also there. So we get there and it was kind of like a faux country bar. They had a mechanical bull which JO was trying to get them to switch on. I guess he started talking to some girl and her boyfriend comes up and started talking shit. JO isn’t a big guy, he’s like 5’5 or something. So of course this guy being drunk thinks he can whoop him. Thankfully before anything happened, Tyrell came over and got JO out of there. The guy was still talking shit and I walked by him on the way out and told him he was lucky he didn’t get stomped. I have zero doubt that JO would have kicked the shit out of that guy easily. And laughed about it too. Zero fear of anyone and not at all afraid of a fight. I asked him what he would have done if he got into a fight with that guy and he said that he would have left before the cops got there. Can’t argue with that.

Jordan has skills. He trained in college under John Smith who befriended me as a kid. I hope he has a great career. He will need to have grit too for mma. I think he does but we will see.
