UFC Womenâs Bantamweight Champion Julianna Peña believes thereâs a stark difference in the male and female motivation for fighting.
For the past 13 years, Peña has competed as a professional mixed martial artist. Having been through the ups and downs of the sport, âThe Venezuelan Vixenâ currently finds herself at the top of the mountain, having won the 135-pound title on MMAâs biggest stage last December.
At UFC 269, Peña seemingly did the impossible, ending the dominant two-weight rule of Amanda Nunes. But despite experiencing the glory and inevitable fame of holding a UFC championship, Peña fights for different reasons.
While the men battle for fame and wealth, the bantamweight queen says she and her fellow female fighters enter the cage for âempowerment.â
âWomen are here to stay. We are, I think, fighting to empower ourselves as women. Maybe men might wanna fight for rich(es), or (to be) famous, or to impress people, but women, we fight for different reasons,â Peña suggested during an appearance on My Momâs Basement with Robbie Fox . âI think one of those reasons is empowering ourselves, taking control of our own lives, and feeling empowered, like, âWe can do it.â Thatâs one thing I love about womenâs fighting.â
Peña went on to admit that her initial venture into mixed martial arts came from a need to lose weight. But after seeing how her fights inspire other girls, notably her daughter, the champ now has another reason to lace up the gloves.
âFo me, when I was coming up, I didnât take into consideration what it is that I was doing. I didnât join mixed martial arts to empower myself. I just kind of got into it because I needed to lose some weight,â said Peña. âHowever, over the years, Iâm realizing, thereâs other little girls that are looking up to you, there are other little girls that wanna be in your shoes, and wanna do what youâre doing.
âThat, to me, is empowering. That is motivation to wanna continue to give it my all, especially now that I have a daughter and that sheâs looking up to me⊠I want to let her know, anything is possible, you just have to believe in yourself,â concluded Peña.
For Peña to continue inspiring others from the bantamweight throne, sheâll have to repeat the remarkable feat that she accomplished at 2021âs final pay-per-view. Following the culmination of this yearâs season of The Ultimate Fighter , âThe Venezuelan Vixenâ will share the Octagon with consensus female GOAT Nunes for the second time.
While sheâs once again being regarded as the underdog, itâs safe to say that not many are totally counting out Peñaâs chances after the way she shocked the world last time out.
Ill tell u the difference that a lot of PC woke crap will never admit. The simple fact of the matter is, men are simply designed for fighting whereas women are designed for sex and having/raising kids.
BOom.
Youre welcome.
" I can attract more men to MMA if we feature Women Fighters "- Dana
Women just arenât good at it. Thatâs the problem. Yes, there are a few exceptions, but overall, 99.99% of some fighters stink.
Theyâre too emotional so they lack the fight IQ, theyâre not strong enough, and not athletic enough to be fast. Their techniques suck, hence the head arm throws and air punches throughout every fight.
WMMA sucks, donât care what they fight for
THe only good thing about women are their bodies for sex. IF it wasnt for their bodies, theyd be useless to me. Their overly emotional personalities require constant adjustments.
LOLZ
YEp. DOnt want to see her fight. Want to bend her over and do what men are supposed to do to women.
Killin It !
Youre welcome.
Thats mushrooms for ya.
The best women fighters, are the ones who are most manly - ie have the most manly features. What a coincidence!?
Bethe actually has one of the nicer bum bums ive seen on female fighters which is All i need. Nice big bum bum is all i need for sex. ANy women without a nice big bum bum is useless to me. IF they want to have sex with me and they have no bum bum, i tell them to do squats for a year then they can come see if its enough for me to have sex with them.
I watched the fights last night. The woman fights are just god awful. Nobody is really packing power or a skill set that makes you say watch out. With the exception of Valentina I am not impressed with woman fighting. Rhonda was fun to watch because of how well she was able to implement high level judo in to the octagon.
That chookigan girl has really good standup and power for a female. However, I still think she lost that fight due to being taken down and controlled for much of the 1st and 2nd round by the smaller woman.
I agree she was better than most other female fighters but would you tell your buddy hey Chookigan is fighting next week - going be great. No - nobody would itâs just not that fun to watch
