I just watched Sherk/Franca for the first time and I thought it was a great fight. Anyone who has been dogging on Sherk is just retarded, he was way more agressive and went for plenty of submissions too, seems all Hermes did was defend the whole fight.
People booing this fight or saying it was boring clearly have no understanding of grappling. And all the dumb fuck frat boys who came to see someone get "knocked the fuck out" and were booing the whole time are just ignorant. Luckily Dana realizes what a great fight this was. I wouldn't be surprised if the UFC doesn't have another Sacremento show for a loooooong fucking time.
PS- Sherk has dismantled 3 BJJ BB's in his last 3 fights (Franca, Florian, Diaz) and will beat BJ too. Wait until stand up fighters like Spencer Fisher and Roger Huerta start getting title shots, thats going to be ugly.
I think Sherk would be in trouble with BJ if he didn't have an iron head because BJ will get the best of the standup in between shrugging off early takedown attempts. In the end, I think Sherk will outlast and smother a tired BJ to a decision.
Anyone who says that Sherk didn't dominate Franca thoroughly is an idiot, but Sherk did not work hard for a finish and the fight was repetitive and somewhat dull.
BJ has beaten Pulver, Uno and Gomi at 155. Not too bad. Who has Sherk beaten? Florian and Franca. I wouldn't quite say he "dismantled" Diaz either.
