imo hughes is too solid to be beaten by karo
... In his last like, 10 fights, Hughes has only lost to Penn (but even then I thought that was a bit suss).
Now, Karo's record is pretty impressive as well, but I think the quality of fighters that Hughe's has been brawling with is better than Karo's. Plus, I believe St. Pierre lost to Hughes but beat Karo (can someone confirm this?).
I say Hughes.

yeah, but honestly the same thing was said about Newton, Sakurai, Trigg X2, St Pierre. Never doubt what can happen in a fight. I think Hughes wins this fight just like GSP did. He has all the tools Karo has in terms of getting it to the mat, he is just MUCH more physically gifted. Should be a good scrap though.

I do not see Hughes having trouble with anyone for as long as he wants to hold the belt. The guy is a machine. The equivelant to Fedor in the welterweight division. I would like to see him move up in weight though. Even though they are friends and it would never happen a Hughes/Franklin fight would be awesome.
