Kaufman-Coenen top priority; Cyborg fight possible

While a superfight between dominant Strikeforce champions Sarah Kaufman and Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos may still be a possibility, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker remains focused on a 135-pound title fight between Kaufman and Marloes "Rumina" Coenen. Coker confirmed with MMARising.com that plans for the Kaufman-Coenen bout are still the top priority.

Recent speculation has suggested that Coenen may have trouble with the weight cut to 135, which led to rumours that Kaufman may face Santos later this year instead, but Coker maintains that that is not the case.

There's still some uncertainty as to how Marloes is going to handle the cut down to 135, but any talk of the 140-pound superfight between Sarah and Cyborg is premature for now. No opponents for Cyborg have been lined up yet, though I know that there's at least one or two possibilities, and the Kaufman-Coenen fight will probably take place on one of the dates listed in the article.
