Are they just trying to test out the waters of fan feedback or is he not hiding their fear of Khabib?
I guess being a #1 contender just don't cut it anymore. I guess trash talking to go along with that doesn't either. Seems like the champ has to want to fight you now. This is just terrible.
Even Kavanagh knows that the gravy train ends with Khabib. They will avoid that matchup as long as they can.

All this means is that Kavanagh feels Conor has Nate mastered as an opponent and they like to clock cash. Things we all know.
Ferguson vs. Khabib will probably happen to determine a solidified #1 contender or they will choose one of them to fight Conor and have the other maybe fight Nate Diaz or Barboza.
The UFC can't let Nate Diaz fight Conor next for a couple reasons. It would alter the integrity of the sport, Conor is supposed to be taking a break and Diaz would be a difficult Champion to deal with compared to Khabib/Ferguson, although Nate would be a bigger draw.
Also Diaz vs. Conor 3 is a backburner fight that is always there. Nate is 31 and Conor is 28, plenty of time to make it.
Nate needs to protect dem ribs and also figure out how to check those leg kicks better.
He has done it more often in his most recent fights, but he needs to figure that shit out.

I genuinely don't think Conor feels Khabib is worthy of getting the panty night right now. He said that he wants activity from his opposition, Ferguson is that guy.

Khabib has 20 times the Instagram followers that Ferguson has, but people tune in for McGregor so that's fairly irrelevant.

Conor is a great fighter and he has now slain great competition. But a Diaz fight is just nuts when he has Jose Aldo, Khabib, Tony Ferguson and, to a lesser extent, Frankie Edgar waiting for him in both divisions.

Khabib has the best grappling of the bunch, but MJ showed how hittable he is. On the other hand, Conor would be dead meat once Khabib grabbed him. Frankie's takedowns are only a tad bit behind, but Conor is definitely bigger than him and Frankie is hittable, as well.
Ferguson's grappling is great and his wrestling is really good - but not as good as the other two guys. On the other hand, his style is just so damn difficult. I actually wouldn't be surprised if he went for an Imanari roll.

Khabib means less money and the end of his fighter being 155 champ. Conor can beat anyone else in my opinion but Khabib. He drags him around like a little boy. I'm a fan of conor but if you're not that's your guy. The only way to end his hype is dominate him. I mean hit a take down 20 sec in and never let up. Khabib is the guy. He would make conor look ridiculous and we all know it. Conor would have the start of every round to land a shot and that's it. Once the Russian is on top it's over.

I thought this too, and I think it's still a likely scenario however, people have said similar things about a lot of his opponents. I am also a fan, but I really thought Eddie might be it. Now I know Eddie isn't near the grappler Khabib is, but he was supposed to be a super bad matchup and he never even had the chance in that fight. I am done doubting Conor. I will of course never say that Conor will maul Khabib or dominate him. But I will say it's almost certain that the fight would be better than most people think. And from what we've seen over and over, it really could go either way.
Money wise he's the best choice by far, he's got that right.
