These two did not hold anything back and left the best of themselves in the ring. Feels like there’s hardly any of this happening anymore. Last night Dustin, as much as I am not a fan of his, had this type of fire and no quit in him.
I am convinced that if this version of Ken showed up to face Tito, he’d have won. There’s a reason why he stayed in the UFC and fought ballooned up 185ers… Sounds like someone else of recent fame in the LHW division who went up to HW.

Ken’s slx entries from the clinch were ahead of his time.
They don’t make fighters anymore… just seems like they are all athletes or want to be. Or in the case of the current HW division, a couple athletes and some dudes they found randomly that train a little bit.

Man, I miss Pride. They were warriors. Now, they’re just sportsmen.

The events feel so fucking sterile now.

What does this mean? Todays fighters would make Ken and Don look like they’ve never fought or trained a day in their lives
Does anyone know how bad the damage was done to both men after the fight? I understand Don Frye ended up hooked on painkillers after this bout. That sounds like long term damage.
i spoke to Don about this once, he said Ken broke both of his ankles. i didn’t get to ask specifically if that was a bone break, or if he simply ripped the ligaments/tendons to pieces - but for sure, damage was done.

The heelhooks with wrestling shoes on is crazy. The fact that Frye continued the fight after those is a real testament to how tough he was. Say what you wamt about shamrock, but he was stong as shit and when he grabbed a leg the potential for life changing damage was always there.

He’s said his legs have never been the same since.
Both of these guys showed better technical skills everywhere than Ngannou ever did in MMA lol.
And it means today’s fighters are a bunch of prissy bitches who want to be famous more than they want to fight.

Yeah, the heavyweight division is sooo good right now….
It’s not. It’s awful. But they’re still better fighters today than they were in the god damn 90’s
You are the dumbest casual ever.
