We’re talking about a retired LW fighting the current MW champ who could also fight comfortably at 205lbs. too

Khabib bullies Rockhold and Belal and is currently over 200 lbs I would bet my left nut he takes Alex down and smashes him.

I just can’t get on the Khabib hype train. I don’t think he had very stiff competition.

Where does this notion come from?

Charles Oliveira beating Khabib’s sloppy seconds?

Look what Islam did to Charles. Khabib beats up Islam every day.

Huh?

He beat prime RDA who went on to become LW champ. He submitted Justin Gaethje, former WSOF champ. Submitted Dustin Poirier who is a BJJ BB and a warrior with a very impressive resume himself and a former interim champ. And he submitted Conor

How about Francis?

Conor was done by that point. Rda was solid. Goethe is average. Just exciting. Poirior is decent nothing great. I never even heard of Khabibs first 17/18 opponents.

I don’t care to hear about what happened in practice. If that was the case Joe Riggs would be a GOAT.

Francis has enough power and TDD to stuff Khabib a couple times and throw some bombs at Khabib’s granite head.

Alex doesn’t.

Good point.

There was a reason the ufc protected Khabib from GSP. They knew their champ would lose and GSP would retire again. That says it all.

Umm no. They just saw GSP do that when they gave him the shot at Bisping and wouldn’t take the risk of him fleeing the division again even if they thought Khabib would win. Why even take the chance?

Fool me once.

You just proved my point. If they were so confident in Khabib, they wouldn’t have to be concerned. Why protect the greatest fighter ever from a guy coming out of retirement that never fought in that division.

Weak point.

Anything can happen in a fight and Georges got blackballed from free titleshots after fleeing MW.

Khabib doesn’t fight people his own size. He’ll risk death and kidney failure cutting massive weight to have a size advantage.

lol @ him ever facing someone bigger.

He fights bigger guys in the gym all the time and annihilates them though. We have footage of guys like Rockhold.

Belal posted footage of Khabib mogging him and said he couldn’t even move, also said Khabib was the best ever.

Khabib is also over 200 pounds now. Just because his body is best suited to 155 doesn’t mean he couldn’t wreck shit at higher weight classes.

We’ll see how Islam does when he moves up.

No, sorry friend. Saying anything can happen in a fight is weak. It’s a cop out. That’s like saying someone has a punchers chance. It’s a Hail Mary. I can buy a lottery ticket tomorrow. The overwhelming odds are that I’ll lose, but there’s a chance…

Your point is idiotic to begin with.

You think the UFC was protecting Khabib from GSP (as if they know shit) and that somehow means Alex would do good?
:face_with_hand_over_mouth:

My point is fact, comrade. The ufc didn’t believe Khabib would beat GSP. There is no other conclusion other than they didn’t have confidence in him.

The ufc literally threw away a fortune with not making that fight because they knew it would be a short term gain. They would make a ton on that fight but their crowned king would lose to a semi retired fighter and it would leave the division in turmoil.
Look how nobody said Cormier was a legit champ after Jones was out due to his issues. They would say the same about the lightweights after Khabib lost and GSP retired.
