Kharitonov: so is he done kickboxing?

He's always been one of my favorites since the Pride days, but watching him get his legs turned to meatloaf by Ghita, and then this loss to Jaideeep...not that there's shame in losing to either opponent, but I think we can agree that his talent lies in MMA, not kickboxing.

Looked sluggish against Jaideep (à la Boetsch vs. Davis); felt like he was going to lose from the beginning. Makes me fear that he'd look the same way if/when he returns to MMA.

Strikeforce signed him but haven't heard anything since summer (http://www.headkicklegend.com/2010/6/8/1508307/strikeforce-signs-kharitonov).

Anyway, props to Jaideep; never heard of anybody else from India being successful in K-1.

Bluenamer, if you wouldn't mind:

Sergei's K1 struggles really puts Overeem's success in perspective. 4-5 years ago Sergei was chasing him out of the ring...now he'd be lucky to get out of the first round. Phone Post

I don't want to agree, but I do. I wouldn't want to see Kharitonov/Overeem 3 at this point. I wonder if his living in the Netherlands has caused him to lose focus the same way some fighters who move to Las Vegas do.
