Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal looks to have an opponent booked for the upcoming "Strikeforce: Evolution" card, set to air live on Showtime on December 19. If his recent comments are to be deciphered correctly, all signs point to Mike Whitehead as his next adversary.
From his Twitter page, Lawal stated, "King Mo vs….Put it like this….Its a type of pimple!!! Ima bust it tho!!! call me stridex! oxy pad! clearasal! noxsema!"
Lawal's obvious reference is to a pimple on the verge of popping, also known as a "whitehead."
Lawal will be competing in his Strikeforce debut and is 5-0 in his career. He most recently competed at M-1: "Breakthrough" in August against Mark Kerr, winning by technical knockout in the first round.
Whitehead (24-6) is best known for competing on the second season of "The Ultimate Fighter." He made one UFC appearance, losing to Keith Jardine at UFC 57 in February 2006. Since that time he has found success in smaller organizations including Affliction, IFL and now Strikeforce. He has a 15-1 record since leaving the UFC with wins over current "Ultimate Fighter" cast member Zak Jensen, former UFC fighter Kevin Randleman, and current UFC fighter Krystoff Soszynski. The lone loss in that span came at the hands of former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Renato "Babalu" Sobral.
Other bouts reportedly scheduled for the "Strikeforce: Evolution" include:
Scott Smith vs. Cung Le
Matt Lindland vs. Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza
it will be a shame if diaz isn't on this card... FREE DIAZ!!!
