Via a KSW press release:
KSW middleweight champ Mamed Khalidov (35-7-2) will face welterweight champion Roberto Soldic (19-3) in the main event of KSW 65 on December 18 at the Gliwice Arena in Gliwice, Poland.
Mamed Khalidov is one of the most iconic names in the sport and his twenty-fight undefeated streak in KSW between 2007 and 2017 is legendary. During that time, he dispatched the likes of Melvin Manhoef, Matt Lindland, Kendall Grove, WEC champ James Irvin, TUF winner Jesse Tayler, and KSW champs Michal Materla & Borys Mankowski, to name just a few.
Outside of KSW, Khalidov also traveled to win fights in Elite XC in America and Sengoku in Japan as well as promotions in the UK & Croatia.
In his last fight, the 41-year-old recaptured the middleweight title with an incredible flying switch kick knockout win over Scott Askham at KSW 55, thus marking his third time becoming KSW champ having won the middleweight title first in 2015 and light heavyweight title in 2009.
While Khalidov has cemented his legacy, it is Roberto Soldic who is building one of his own. The 26-year-old is already a two-time KSW welterweight champion and has left a trail of destruction behind him since he burst into the promotion in 2017.
Known as one of the most dangerous welterweights on the planet, Soldic has a terrifying 90% finishing ratio and has knockout wins over current UFC star Dricus Du Plessis, KSW legend Michal Materla, top Czech fighter Patrik Kincl, & Welsh veteran Lewis Long. Now ‘The RoboCop’ will aim to become double champ and score the biggest win of his rising career.
Mamed Khalidov vs. Roberto Soldic promises to be one the biggest fights ever seen in European MMA.
