Dont know much about these training tools. Know chinese martial arts in general allegedly arent very effective. However, they certainly look really cool here and these guys no doubt have some cool traditional skills. Any chance one of these wooden dummies could be an effective training tool, either for self-defense or mma?

I think if nothing else, it could help improve hand speed and dexterity, no?
I never understood the purpose but it does look cool at times.
Reminds me of doing "forms". Serves no purpose but hardcore "traditional" TMA'ers will swear it develops balance, speed, and mimicking a fight.
To each their own.
The guy in the video (Freddie) is a bit nuts. Google him.
On a SideNote - I never understood the purpose but it does look cool at times.

It basically is just like doing forms on something resisting. There isn't as much utility to them as one might think. You get a bit of bone conditioning. We had one at our kung fu gym . There's nothing that stands out to me as it being really helpful for.
Chinese faggotry
kung fu is fucking gay and trapping is absurd cosplay fighting.
