LFL implements new bonus in honour of Max Holloway

European MMA promotion Levels Fight League, LFL, have announced a new bonus that they’re introducing for all of their fighters.

The new bonus is in honour of Max Holloway’s instantly iconic ending to his BMF title fight with Justin Gaethje at UFC 300.

Already clear on the scorecards, “Blessed” pointed to the middle of the cage and threw down with Gaethje for the final 10 seconds of the fight.

After trading shots with one of the most dangerous punches in the sport, Holloway landed a huge right hand that sent “The Highlight” crashing to the canvas with just one second left on the clock.
LFL announced the new bonus via social media, labelling it as the “Max Point Throwdown Bonus”.

The post states that fighters can make themselves eligible for it by following in Holloway’s footsteps and pointing to the floor before letting their hands go.

Levels Fight League Explains The Reasoning & Details Behind The ‘Max Point Throwdown Bonus’

Bloody Elbow’s Jamie Theodosi posted on X that he had spoken to a representative from LFL in order to find out more about the bonus.

This is what the promotion had to say about where this new addition came from and how the plan on implementing it across future events.

“We were already huge fans of @BlessedMMA and after that fight we wanted to something in his honour. Sure he’s UFC, we’re LFL - but this sport is global and we’re still fans at the end of the day so why not? No one else is doing it."

“We discussed allocating 5k between 5 fights, so up to 1k a fight if it happens each fight, and we’ll re-assess. But honestly we will judge on a fight by fight basis. If it brings us moments like these we are happy to reward the fighters with more.”
