It appears Nate Diaz’s bad boy antics are coming back to haunt him.
Last year, the longtime UFC fan favorite got into a scuffle with Rodney Peterson, a social media influencer. Peterson is best known for his striking resemblance to Logan Paul, with him often going by the moniker “Not Logan Paul.”
The pair locked horns in New Orleans, where Diaz choked Peterson out and left him laying in the street. The ordeal was caught on camera, with Diaz ultimately getting arrested and charged with second-degree battery for his actions against Peterson back in April 2023.
Now, 12 months later, it has been confirmed that Peterson is moving forward with a civil suit against Diaz. For now, it appears the MMA fighter-turned-boxer’s legal representative, Zach Rosenfield, is not taking it seriously.
Nate Diaz Set For Boxing Showdown With Jorge Masvidal
Almost five years on from their infamous UFC 244 encounter, Diaz and Jorge Masvidal are stepping into the ring to face each other once again on June 1st.
This time, however, they will compete in boxing rather than MMA. Last year, Diaz dipped his toe into the world of pugilism in a losing effort to controversial YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. Now, he is seeking payback for the gnarly facial injury that cost him his fight with “Gamebred” back in 2019.
Jorge Masvidal stepped away from the UFC last year after a loss to Gilbert Burns extended his losing skid to four in a row, including a frustrating defeat opposite pal-turned-bitter enemy Colby Covington, and two setbacks against then-UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman.
Now, having suggested he was already coming out of retirement earlier this year, Masvidal will box for the first time in 19 years.
Good luck trying to prove you were some kind of victim. The DA didn’t pursue battery charges against Nate and that kid is an attention-seeking social media jewtube whore and failed “mma fighter.” He also has fought twice since then, so his claims of “physical trauma” are gay. I highly doubt his lawsuit will go anywhere.
I’m just here for all the people that will make fun of this knowing they be first in line to sue if they had the same opportunity.
Hes fought twice? Haha, that was a mistake
This just in, faggot does faggoty shit
According to mmajunkie, he’s an 0-6 “mma fighter.”
Also, “Since the incident, Petersen has competed twice in influencer boxing matches. In January, he was knocked out in 99 seconds by Tristan Hamm under the Misfits Boxing banner. Less than two months later, he defeated Cake Paul by unanimous decision for Hype Boxing. Both boxing matches were exhibitions.”
He lost both fights by standing guillotine.
LoL
Fuck those guys who pester fighters in person.
Hope Nate counter sues for legal fees.
