I really don’t care who wins either way. I though it was a great scrap from both of these guys.
I’m just saying that how did he give up when he was throwing back from the bottom with elbows and up kicks, he never turtled, and even before the fight ended him and Poirier were doing the Apollo creed rocky reenactment. He did make a mistake by trying to go for that choke, but he was trying. I just don’t think the was real domination in the fight. But it was a great fight for the single round we saw.
It’s entirely possible he could have been tko’d or ko’d cleanly later on, but he also could have connected. We just don’t know.
Just like with Silva and Weidman, it really sucks for the fights to end like this because there isn’t really closure and fanboys on either side will be forever declaring their allegiance. My point isn’t to say Conor is the greatest and love on him, I am just trying to bring a little bit of balance to the discussion.

I don’t have a dog in the race either way, but history, common sense and what we saw tonight says that Conor was fucked had the fight gone into the 2nd round.
