Great interview. Gives insight into the mentality of Brazilian BJJ fighters in the 90s.

Goes got set up against Coleman
Pride did him dirty
That was a great interview. I really enjoy when these dudes open up about their early years.
did he say he went to find kimo to beat him up for what he did to royce?
it wasnt easy but royce won. this makes alan look like an asshole
much like royce trying to fight eddie bravo after royler got a draw with him
When the Brazilians first came to the US they came hard
The seriousness in which they approached this “game” was much different than all other parts of the world which is what made them so successful.
Allan was an enforcer for the Gracie family
In the interview he mentioned that the Luta Livre huts had a problem with him and it was deserved based on his gym encroaching into their territory
I’ll definitely listen to this
I had the battlecade EF 3 VHS
I remember his fight with Anthony Macias
Kimo wrote an apology letter to Royce & Relson Gracie for his antics after the Royce fight.
Ask him what does a subdural hematoma feel like?
Ha ha
You are bogus
He fought a lot of tough guys and debuting vs shamrock, he beat Henderson imo
I think that the last few minutes of the Hendo fight gave the contest away
Gies was barely hanging on, pulled his hand out of his glove for a time out
Hendo I believe won that fight
Yeah after rewatching it I agree with you
If only Allan would have went for the choke without kicking Henderson while he was down. He agreed to fight under those rules.
I could have sworn during the podcast they said the kick was legal for some reason but I need to re listen to it
It wasn’t legal at all. That was the rules of the UFC at the time. I was watching it live and I knew it was illegal.
Yeah I know that and just rewatched the fight, I misheard what they were saying on the podcast the host says “where you come from it’s legal to throw the kick”
