I would take my chances in the street with machida before I would Pablo popovitch
I thought the same thing while watching the fight last night. I got nervous. I said to myself, "How the hell is Weidman going to close the distance with this guy?" However, I thought that Weidman would have trouble with Anderson too. Look how that worked out. He's the real deal and shouldn't be overlooked at all. I think he'll find a way.
1-Devon
2-pablo on concrete
3- regular Pablo
4-mechida
Brasco - Dezbot. U want axed from site ?
hahahahaha
FlyingSomethingOrAnotherPlata - Machida vs Souza is the viable fight. Both were considered by a lot to be the #1 contender if either won in spectacular fashion.
Machida got the short end of the stick when Joe Silva made this fight. Both are counter fighters, and everyone was expecting this to be a nasty fight. I enjoyed the chess battle, and how Machida was always 3 moves ahead, poor Mousasi looked lost in that fight.
Jacare looked very impressive against a very talented Carmont, who fought off every submission, many of which would have caught a lesser fighter.
The pressure he applied to Carmont is exactly the fighter you need against Machida, and Machida is the fighter you want against someone that is aggressive like Souza.
I think the winner between them should fight for the title.
Souza would be a good test for Machida since he has a similar style to Weidman.
A guy like Mousasi is basically content to kickbox the entire fight.
HandsomeTopTeam - "Devon our purple belt would submit Machida"Lmfao I came here to make a Devon joke

While Machida did some amazing things in the ring to make Mousasi look like a stump, I don't think people should get title fights from wins like that.
Let these two go at it, and show the world who wants it more. Souza was being talked about a title fight before Machida, but since Machida has a bigger name to the casuals, Dana will go with that.
This fight is a win-win. you build up Jacare as a name, you get Machida so that is another draw, and the styles are made for each other.
But what do I know, I am just a fan that post on an MMA forum.
He needs to train with Pablo and become humbled first! Duh- Brasco

The BIG difference with Silva and Machida is Machida's TDD.
This will be a huge factor if Weidman fights Machida, Weidman won't be able to get Machida down very easily if at all.
