Everyone knows about the legendary match that took place between Mackenzie Dern and Gabi Garcia. The result is legendary, Dern with a 94 lb weight disadvantage did the unthinkable and beat the IBJJF hall of fame competitor. The sheer size of Garcia along with her record and skills made that an unrealistic idea, but somehow Dern did it.
Could she do it again in MMA?
MMA is a more diverse skill set, BJJ is just one aspect of the sport. Both women are highly skilled in BJJ but also both transitioned into MMA and were both very successful. Being that it was already done makes it seem like doing it again would be a possibility, but would it? Would the power and strength of Garcia be too much for the UFC strawweight or would Dern be able shock the world again, except this time do it in MMA?
