I read about this yesterday... sucks.
Hope he makes a quick return from his injury.

That sucks. He's fun to watch. Phone Post

Free Anthony Pettis!

There are now only 9 official fights, w/ one or two pending, on the Versus 5 card.

There are zero fights with a local tie-in.

Pettis had stated it's a desire for him to fight in his hometown and he wants to wash the bad taste of Guida's greasy hair out of his mouth.

Miller and Henderson will be facing each other also on that card, two fighters Pettis has a history with.

Give Pettis and the people what they want: Pettis vs. Dunham in Milwaukee on Versus 5!

Swamuel McSwamuelson - How comes pettis has a history with miller?

Dunham would beat pettis.

Miller has talked crap about the WEC and Pettis ever since the merge. If the redwood falls against Bendo it would be karma and music to the partisan crowd's ears.

And Dunham beating Pettis would be unlikely when Efrain Escudero was tooling him on the feet and half of referees out there would have stopped that fight. Dunham has always been overrated, and Pettis became underrated after "losing" to Guida, because TDD had not been a problem in his previous two fights versus wrestlers. Now all of a sudden he won't be able to stay on his feet against anyone according to the UFC fan. Nerves happen when you're fighting your UFC debut, especially when you have everything to lose. Now, the pressure is off. Just like all the most hyped WEC fighters who made the transfer back in '09, 4 of 5 of whom swiftly ascended to contenders after losing their debuts.

Herring In A Fur Coat -  Pettis - Dunham would be awesome but there's no way they are going to replace an undercard fight with it.  The TV card is already full, it would mean having to bump someone off the main card.

It's not full after Vemola-Bonnar fell through.

Swamuel McSwamuelson - Dunham wouldn't have lost to guida imo, got robbed in the sherk fight.

Sherk > Guida

That's some kind of MMA Math.

Got "robbed" against Sherk (I suppose), but also got lucky against Escudero who is significantly worse than Guida, in addition he got his ass kicked by an athletic striker in Guillard. The beatings he took from Guillard, who is most like Pettis, and getting beaten on the feet by Escudero, is indicative that he wouldn't beat Pettis. Pettis has had about as much trouble staying on his feet throughout his career as Guillard, and is A LOT better on the ground offensively and defensively.

You're also ignoring my point that how a WEC fighter fares in their debut is not reflective of their actual quality. Today, Sonnen > Maia, Munoz > Hamill, Stann > Polish Experiment, Condit > Kampmann; but they all lost their first fights against them.

They replaced Bonnar with Ronny Markes

Which dropped it from the main card, officially. As of right now, there are only 3 fights on the main card.

And anyways, they have a 1-hour pre-show for their NBC Sports events, so theoretically the main card could expand to 5 or even 6 fights (why have a pre-show at the expense of fighter's exposure and their facebook stream?)

They've got to give us Pettis, or at least Rothwell, for the first event ever in Wisconsin.

pettis vs melvin guillard would be awesome.

idk if guillard has another fight coming up tho

One of the fighters who Pettis beat in the WEC, Shane Roller, next week at UFC 132.
