mark coleman was better than i thought

dunchurrn - the most impressive thing about Coleman's career was that nobody took him down until the second Shogun fight

Akira Shoji hip tossed him

There was a time when talking about seeing it all while it was going down was 'cool'.

Now I feel it would just age the hell out of me :(

Congrats on your discovery. Keep on lookin'. Phone Post 3.0

The Antidote!

Give him a break he's probably a Foob Phone Post 3.0

i remember  in his early ufc days he said "no one  can stop my double leg" and i was thinking, he is right. thought he would dominate for years. then came mo, the kickboxer. lol at a striker beating a grappler, i thought...

funny pic, but no. i've been a fan since the mid 90s. that was the whole point of my post. and i agree with above, his victory celebration after vovchanchyn was epic - double leg drop kick to the air resulting in a plant to the canvas, and no fucks were given.

One of my fav fighters hands down !! Phone Post 3.0

Ttt for some sweet nostalgia Phone Post 3.0

Igor got fucked in that tourney.

Coleman's "win" over Fujita was bush league. Not Coleman's fault by any means, but Wand was supposed to be the alternate, so why not use him?

Tom Erikson - Coleman was a beast period!

Isn't that Richard Hamilton on the fence? Is he still in jail for child molestation?

I SOOOOOOO wanted to see Coleman vs Erickson, Kerr or Couture during the days...

Joe Rogan tells the greatest story ever about Coleman:

Coleman was a monster.  One of the greatest HW's of all time.

I was just messing around, I get moments like that quite a bit too when I all the sudden appreciate what a certain fighter has done Phone Post 3.0

Because fujita threw the toqel in rather than pull out, if he had pullex out Wand gets the fight. Phone Post 3.0

He was a bad motherfucker. Watch how fucking fast he is in the frye fight, his double is so quick you can barely see it Phone Post 3.0

Turns out the real creeper was the dude on the fence.

In getting Coleman fresh after his non-fight with Fujita Igor got the short end of the stick.

In the fight before he was on the receiving end of unfair circumstances. He got to fight a guy who had just finished an hour and a half marathon bout while Igor finished his opponent in ten minutes. Then, after the initial round is declared a draw, Sakuraba couldn't come out for the overtime and so Igor was declared the winner without having to fight in the overtime and he got to progress.

You could argue that an exhausted Sakuraba who held Igor to a draw (winning the early part of the round and then fading at the end) would have beat Vovchanchin easily with the same amount of rest. You could also argue that Kerr should have got past Fujita without messing up his meds. That Coleman wouldn't have beat that version of Kerr and so Kerr vs. Sakuraba is the real championship bout...OK, I'm pushing this to the point of silliness, but it is possible to do so with all of the "what ifs". There is going to be a lot of unfairness in a same day martial arts tourney almost every time (look at the K1 tourneys for example) so IMO at a certain point you just have to accept the results at face value. It was a very tough field and Coleman came out of nowhere to win the whole thing. That makes him the tourney champion without qualification.
