Mass Destruction 22

As usual with Mass Destruction shows, the event is sold out, and the crowd is crazy with excitement as the ring announcer enters the ring. After a few announcements, this great night of fights is underway.

Ray Bergeron (Santos) vs. Doug Brown (Fight Zone)

They come out swinging, and Ray lands a good leg kick, then gets dropped with a right! He looked out, but remained calm, and rolled Doug over and landed some hard shots of his own. Ray nearly catches him in an armbar, and ends up side mounted on Doug. This fight is all action! After several reverses, Ray is in the full mount, and throwing bombs! Doug gives his back up, and Ray quickly transitions to an armbar, and Doug has no choice but to tap.

Winner: Ray Bergeron-armbar submission (2:56 round 1)

Dan Donche (Cockfight) vs. Tom Giove (South Shore Sportfighting)

Tom quickly clinches and takes Dan off his feet. He is throwing some body punches, but ends up getting rolled. As they roll, Tom locks a tight guillotine for the win.

Winner: Tom Giove-guillotine choke (:59 round 1)

Craig Hinton (Gillette MMA) vs. J.P. Cristini (Team Savage)

J.P. rushes across the ring, and lands one of the best one-two combinations I have ever seen, and knocks Craig down, and hits him a couple more times before the referee pulls him off. There is new 170 pound force in MA mma, and his name is J.P. Cristini.

Winner: J.P. Cristini-KO (:2 round 1)

The fight only lasted 2 seconds so we don't have many pics

Dave Masterson (Mendes) vs. Allen Harris (Lionkill Jiu-Jitsu)

They touch gloves, and Allen gets the takedown fairly quickly, and mounts in quick fashion. He lands several punches, and Dave turtles. Allen works a RNC then some shots to the side of the head. Dave looks completely out of his element on the mat, and Allen goes back to the RNC for the submission win.

Winner: Allen Harris-RNC (1:31 round 1)

Mike Varner (Boneyard) vs. Manny Neves (Elite Martial Arts)

As both of these popular fighters come to the ring, the crowd is going absolutely crazy! As Varner shadow boxes in the ring, Neves takes his time making his way to the ring. Manny starts with a spinning back kick, followed by a head kick that drops Mike. Mike regains his composure, but is bleeding profusely from his right cheekbone. His corner has two minutes to stop the bleeding, or the fight will be stopped. As the action resumes, Manny tries the same combination, but Varner defends it. He takes Manny down into sidemount, and is working for a mount. Varner is working a key lock that is turned all the way back. I don't know how he's not tapping! Varner mounts, lands a few punches, then takes his back. Manny is defending, but Varner looks relentless. Varner is switches from back control to mount, and lands some decent shots as the round expires. Round 2-They are tentative as the round starts, until Varner lands a monster lead left hook. He lands another lead hook, then shoots. Manny is holding on, and is working a guillotine from his knees. Varner is landing some serious knees to Manny's left thigh, which is pinned underneath him with nowhere to go. Manny is visibly bothered by the repeated knees. Varner finally gets the takedown, and is again side mounted. Varner starts to work the far arm, and catches him in a straight armbar. As the arm looks like it is starting to hyper-extend, Manny taps.

Winner-Mike Varner-straight arm bar (2:55 round 2)

Nick Luongo (Santos) vs. Josh Lydell (Invicta)

Nick throws a leg kick, which Josh catches, and quickly takes him down. Nick is trying to sweep, but Josh seems to have solid BJJ, and is defending the sweep well. Nick is now working a kimura, but Josh defends, and punches him in the face for his troubles. They scramble a bit, and Josh ends up on bottom, but quickly sweeps. They end up back on their feet briefly, and Nick puts him right back down. He's throwing some punches, but nothing is landing. They again scramble, and Josh takes his back. These guys are back and forth, as the round ends. Not sure how to score that one. These guys didn't seem to stop the whole round. Round 2-Josh lands a great leg kick, and they clinch. Nick lands some viscous knees from the clinch. They disengage, and Josh lands more leg kicks. They scramble to the mat, and are again switching positions faster than I can type. Nick starts to work a triangle, but Josh uses it to pass, and is side mounted. Josh lands a hard shot, and takes his back. He's landing some hard punches, and Nick looks out of gas. As the round ends, Josh is working the RNC, but doesn't have the time to finish it.

Winner: Josh Lydell (unanimous decision)

Ed Medeiros (Mendes) vs. Eric Brown (Fight Zone)

Ed rushes across the ring, and throws a huge combination, and I'm not sure what actually landed. Eric is dropped, and Ed rushes in for the finish.

Winner: Ed Medeiros-TKO (:4 round 1)

Chaz Ackles (Team Hyaku) vs. Greg Rebello (Eclectic Karate)

Greg is throwing some serious leg kicks, while Chaz is throwing haymakers. Greg is dropped, but it looked like he slipped as he was hit. Chaz pounces, and throws a couple more punches, and to the displeasure of the crowd, the referee stops the fight.

Winner: Chaz Ackles-TKO (:21 round 1)

Tony Barber (Jiu-Jitsu Zone) vs. Deividas Taurosevicius (PKA)

Tony lands a huge right and rocks David to start the fight. Tony tries to take the back, but David takes the top position in half guard. David is landing some great short punches, and is working for a mount. He's got it, and takes the back. He quickly sinks a RNC in for the submission win.

Winner: Deividas Taurosevicius-RNC (3:01 round 1)

Mark Raposo (Boneyard) vs. Craig Buckley (South Shore Sportfighting)

Mark lands a nice right that rocks Craig as he shoots in. They clinch, and Mark jumps into a standing guillotine. Craig is out, and is pounding Mark from the top. Mark is defending well, and looks to want to grapple with him. Craig is spending a ton of energy throwing bombs, and is looking like he is starting to tire a bit. Mark is just covering up and eating punches, but nothing seems to be landing very hard. I'm not sure what Mark was doing at the end of that round. Round 2-Mark lands a good leg kick, and Craig takes him right down. Craig is throwing a ton of punches, but Mark is blocking most of them. Craig's wrestling is making it hard for Mark to do much of anything. Mark is working from the bottom, but can't get anything done. Mark nearly sweeps him. Mark is doing all he can to get up, but Craig is simply too strong.

Winner: Craig Buckley (Unanimous Decision)

Glenn Medeiros (Gillete MMA) vs. Darryl MarcAurele (Strike Zone)

Glenn misses with a head kick, and Darryl picks him up, and slams him hard to the mat. Darryl mounts, but Glenn quickly escapes. Darryl is landing some hard shots, and again takes him down. Glenn is defending from the bottom, but Darryl just keeps the punches coming in bunches. He lands one devastating right, and Glenn rolls to his stomach, and Darryl finishes him off with more lefts and rights.

Winner: Darryl MarcAurele-TKO (2:36 round 1)

Matt Lambert (Murphy's Kickboxing) vs. Jesse Rebell (Fightzone)

Matt is throwing punches like a maniac, and Jesse takes him down. Matt gets back to his feet, and hammers him with a brutal combination that rocks Jesse. They end up on the mat, with Matt landing a ton of punches from the top position. Though his punches are landing solidly, he's only landing one at a time. Jesse sweeps to mount!! He's throwing a ton of punches, but Matt is defending well. With only 30 seconds left in the round, Jesse starts to land. The round expires before he can finish Matt off. Round 2-Both guys look tired at the start of the round. Matt tries an outside trip, and Jesse uses his momentum to roll him over, and end up on top. Jesse is working a key lock, and traps the other arm with his legs, leaving nothing for Matt to defend his face with. Jesse lands about 7 or 8 unanswered punches, and the referee mercifully stops the fight.

Winner: Jesse Rebell-TKO (1:08 round 2)
