ATT fighter Jorge Masvidal appeared recently on ESPN's The Ariel Helwani Show and discussed Colby Covington's recent departure from the team. The pair were once friends, but Covington's kayfabe act soured things, with Masvidal, with the team generally, and perhaps with the fans as well.
“Guess who’s still here? Guess who’s still here? The truth will shine, my brother," said Masvidal, as transcribed by Nolan King for MMA Junkie. "I’ll let you ask Dan Lambert, but that dude was never part of this team. … At the end of the day, he didn’t feel safe in here. I wonder why.”
“[ATT] is a temple for me. It’s somewhat of a religious experience for me being in here – being in here since I was a kid, you know? My good days, my bad days, my birthdays – all days I’ve spent in this gym, sharpening my tools. I truly love this place, so I don’t like that animosity – even if he had never said a word about me.
“What type of teammate or man – he’s not a man – with the sport that we’re in, insults a woman? He insulted Joanna. He insulted Amanda. He insulted Dustin. These people are not in your weight I get it. You’re trying to do this thing where you’re some kind of heel. What’s that have to do with a woman? A 115-pound woman or a 135-pound woman? Idk if I agree with Colby not being able to hang with top competition and being mentally weak. He was technically a champion and fought a hell of a fight with Usman. That's like calling Anthony Smith soft.

I think the point he was trying to make is, what is the point of talking shit to women fighters or fighters not in his division. There is nothing to hype up, no end game.
My guess is there was discussion between Colby and Masvidal creating heat between themselves and it went out of control and Colby just started attacking everyone

Nah. Colby got Rory McDonald’d in that fight. He’ll never be the same. If he was fine, he would already be back. But he’s not. Because he’s not ready. And realistically he’ll never be ready for top comp anymore. Such is the fight game.
