Less than a year after he decided to hang up his gloves, Jorge Masvidal appears ready to make his return to fighting.

One of the UFC’s most recognizable stars over the last several years, Masvidal began his MMA career in 2003 and competed in more than 50 bouts against some of the sport’s biggest names across major promotions such as Strikeforce and Bellator as well as the UFC.
“Gamebred” challenged Kamaru Usman for the UFC welterweight title twice before dropping decisions to Colby Covington and Gilbert Burns, and following the loss to Burns at UFC 287 the 39-year-old announced his retirement from fighting
Masvidal has kept busy during the last eight months as a fight promoter, but now it seems that the former BMF champion is looking to get back into action himself.

While the post does little to elaborate on Masvidal’s immediate plans for fighting, fans will undoubtedly begin to propose possible matchups if the former welterweight title challenger were to return to the UFC or perhaps try his hand at competing in his own Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA.

If Masvidal truly does intend to fight again and is eyeing a return to the UFC, then the timing of his announcement seems like it may set “Gamebred” up for a potential return as part of UFC 300 on April 13 in Las Vegas.
The 39-year-old possesses the kind of star power that could provide a huge boost for a UFC 300 card that currently only has three confirmed fights. Masvidal did retire on a four-fight losing streak, but even if he doesn’t intend to return to the UFC his next bout will likely be must-watch viewing for plenty of fight fans.
