Matt Hughes a hypocrit

Since when does telling a guy you don't think he will fight equate to doing maybe the stupidest dance during possibly the worst fight in UFC history?

You guys are moronic.

Rashod Proved all he had to prove in that fight. The proof is he won to fight another day. If they don't like his showboating then KO his ass. But as it stands Rashod Won and "A win is a win is a win"

Me personally would have went after the 5k though, I think Rashod could have stopped him but who knows he might have gotten hurt in the process and be out of the contest.

So lets stop playing the would have, should have, could have game and watch the damn show.

ttt for matt proving my point last night. I especially liked the scene where he justified his actions by saying Joe was trying to keep his mind off of what he was doing and distract his opponent. I guess it never occured that Rashad was doing the same thing. Or maybe it is only ok for Matt and the Team Hughes guys to act that way?

Dogface - I think he looked like an idiot also. I hate most people who do shit like that. But the fact is, Matt has no business commenting on it. He is just as bad, if not worse.

"in fighting you dont want to get your mind off of what youre doing... you want to be focused... or youre gonna get KOd"

Everybody reacts to a situation differently. He could be doing the dance stuff to keep his nerves in check and stay loose. It also works to distract your opponent.

Wow, it is amazing how far people will rationalize things to support those they idolize. Rashad's behavior is something I would have done ONLY if my opponent had been talking shit to me. Otherwise, I'm kinda conservative so I wouldn't be out there dancing like that. However, it looked painfully obvious to me that Rashad was doing most of that nonsense simply to distract his opponent and look unorthodox (like that one time, he danced, jerked and then kind of jumped right over his opponent's guard). Even when he got hit by the elbow, he starts dancing around so much that the other dude froze and didn't even attempt a follow up. He wasn't trying to be disrespectful or assholish towards him in any way. Do you guys remember how friendly and buddy-buddy the two were before the fight? No animosity whatsoever, even when giving their opinions on how fast they would beat each other.

Regardless of all that, the worst part is people acting like Rashad's dancing and showboating were so different than Matt fucking with Jorge, or Joe (my favorite fighter on the show) talking shit back and forth with Jorge during the scarecrow challenge. ALL of those behaviors, even though they are all completely unnecessary, are ALL similar and really aren't that big a deal. In fact, Rashad's behavior may have been the least offensive since he did it in the proper venue - a venue where his opponent can simply kick his ass an eliminate that behavior. So the bottom line is, whether it was caused by the Edit Monster, or because it's the truth, Matt came off like an asshole and a hypocrite for blasting Rashad, but justifying Joe, for doing the same thing - finding ways to distract their opponents and keep themselves loose for the task at hand.

Matt is acting like a total hypocrite First off it is Bush League for a coach to trash talk an opposing player .Secondly he criticizes Rashad then Hughes trash talked Jorge and the whole green team during the challenge

Great post Big Worm

The "edit monster" can only do so much. It's not like Hughes DIDN'T say or do all those things. Just because they probably showed everything in succession doesn't make it an excuse. Hughes is still acting like a dick. Telling someone to suck it up after their shoulder is torn and calling him a pussy that he didn't want on the team in the first place during the testimony shot was not magically created by editors.

He's a UFC champion and if he really cares about the sport like he says, he shouldn't act as he has. If he doesn't care, fine. But don't get mad at Rashad for doing what he did during the fight.

That shoulder thing with Rod was especially odd. I just had surgery to repair a torn labrum and partially torn bicep. I would harldy call that being "hurt", it is definately a serious injury and Matt did not seem to care about the well being of his figher.
