Max legacy >> Khabib

Max has fought all contenders sent his way by the UFC. Never ducked a fight. Went up in weight and took risks to throw down for the fans.

All things Islam and khabib have never and will never do.

That’s why they have no legacy and Max just became a living mma legend

You can like Max and not be a hypocrite. Khabib’s legacy is still intact.

Khabibs legacy is still intact but it’s still not better than Max’s. Or several other champs for that matter.

Conor’s legacy as a coked up juiced is still
Intact. Just want to keep everyone straight on this

What legacy it doesn’t exist.

He never gave anything back to the fans and hence will never be recognised as one of the greats.

Let’s just get the definition of legacy straight first by asking ChatGPT

In the context of a fighter, “legacy” refers to the lasting impact and influence a fighter has on the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA) or boxing. It encompasses a range of factors, including:

  1. Career Achievements: This includes titles won, records set, and memorable fights. A fighter’s accomplishments in the ring or cage contribute significantly to their legacy.
  2. Skills and Fighting Style: A fighter’s unique approach to the sport, their technical abilities, and their fighting style can leave a lasting impression on fans and fellow fighters alike.
  3. Impact on the Sport: Beyond individual achievements, a fighter’s influence on the evolution of the sport can be part of their legacy. This could be through innovations in training techniques, strategies, or by inspiring a new generation of fighters.
  4. Character and Personality: How a fighter conducts themselves inside and outside the ring or cage can also shape their legacy. Integrity, sportsmanship, and charisma can leave a positive legacy, while controversies or unsportsmanlike conduct might overshadow a fighter’s achievements.
  5. Cultural and Societal Impact: Some fighters transcend the sport and become cultural icons. Their influence reaches beyond MMA or boxing, impacting popular culture and society at large.

In summary, a fighter’s legacy is a combination of their achievements, skills, impact on the sport, character, and cultural significance. It’s a measure of their lasting contribution to the world of combat sports.

Khabib;
Achievements including titles won - yeh he won it in dominant fashion. Would you call any of his fights other than Conor memorable? His number of defences is not memorable at all.

Skills and fight style - agree. Could have been one of the most dominant fighters ever to live. But we will never know because he quit with a lot of fights left on the table.

Impact on the sport - minimal in my opinion other than ushering in this group of dagi wrestlers no one really wants to watch.

Character and personality - probably the most bland, weird, boring backwards personality in MMA history.

Cultural and societal impact - Nil in the western world. Nothing

Lasting contribution to MMA - ? coaching I guess.
