Can you believe it's already May? This year is going by so fast!
Here are the updates for May 2004:
1. I will be headed off to Obertshausen, Germany to teach three
days worth of semi-private lessons to a small group of individuals
on Monday, May 3. I will also teach a BJJ seminar on Saturday and
Sunday, May 8 an 9 in Obertshausen, as well as a small JKD and
Kalis Ilustrisimo workshop on Saturday, May 8.
2. I will be teaching a BJJ seminar in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on
Saturday and Sunday, May 29 and 30. The seminar will be hosted
by Mr. Brian Bird and Sheila Bradish. I will also be teaching a small
JKD workshop on Friday evening, May 28.
3. I will be teaching an intermediate level guard passing seminar
at my academy in San Diego on Sunday, May 23 from 10am to
1pm. The seminar is open to the general public. Cost is $50.
4. I will have an "I've gone crazy" sale at the academy on Friday,
May 21. All instructional CD's and DVD's will be on sale for $9.99.
You must pick up your copy at the academy. There will be no
internet sales on this sale. I will be at the academy from 10am to
7pm. So stop by during lunch or after work to pick up your copy!
5. I will once again have a special offer on private lessons on
Friday, May 21. From 10am to 6pm, I will teach a 50 minute
private lesson for $50. If you would like to reserve one of these
times, prepay for your lesson by Wednesday, May 19! Once the
time slots fill up, there will be no more availability.
6. The academy will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31.
7. I will be teaching a BJJ seminar in Rochester, New York on
Saturday and Sunday, June 5 and 6. The seminar will be hosted by
Mr. Kyle Saunders. I will also be teaching a series of private
lessons during my stay. I am unsure of the time slots that are left.

8. On Tuesday afternoon, June 8, RoyHarris.com will have another
major update. This time, instead of JUST posting articles, the site
will have A TON of new instructional videos. I know you will enjoy
this update!!!
9. On Monday, May 10, I will be having a special training class for
all Harris International students and instructors from 7:30pm until
we finish. So, if you train with me, or Darby, or Jeff, or Don, or
Matt, or Michio, or Preston, or Trent, or Sean, or Louie, or Forrest,
or Frank, or Darin, or Jin, or Manny, or Brad, or Roy, or Jay, or
Israel, or Dave, please come by and train. I will teach for 15
minutes or so and then allow everyone to grapple with everyone
else! It will be a fun time. Come a grapple with others within our
association! You will enjoy it!!!!!!

Roy - is this the sale you mentioned in the "Cool Stuff" thread?
i.e. - "7. I had scheduled a sale at the Harris Academy this weekend. However, due to the movers flaking out on me (they neither showed or called), I had to cancel and reschedule. I will move the sale date back to late May. This will give me time to collect and organize everything myself. I am planning on selling new and used videos, books, training gear, video equipment, software and more. A lot of the stuff will be cheap, very cheap. How cheap you ask? Some of the stuff will go for $1 to $5. Most of the electronic stuff will go for less than $50. "
Will everything only be in person, and not online?
Croft--there are 2 sales. One is an "in-person only" DVD sale on the 21st. The other is a large equipment sale in San Diego. I do believe that the second sale will also be "in person only", since Mr. Harris told us in Vermont that he is trying to clear out several large storage units filled with equipment!
I sure wish I were there to check out the merchandise!

TT - My last final is the 13th and Summer session doesn't start till the 24th... we could take a raod trip to San Diego for the gear sale ;)

Hope picked up a powerball ticket for each of us last night. When I win the $170 million jackpot tonight, I will take our whole team to San Diego for a month!

UPDATE: I will have to postpone our field trip. Apparently, you have to match ALL the numbers to win! My one number is not enough. This calls for a slight recalculation of "the plan."
