Consider the rounds in reverse order:
Rd 1: Even round, neither fighter gains an advantage
Rd 2: Frankie edges it out
Rd 3: Maybe give it to Gray
Rd 4: Frankie takes it with a nice slam
Rd 5: Gray knocks the shit out of Frankie and nearly finishes him but he survives

Only if you think the judges go back and cross out all their round by round scores and write in new ones based on how the last round went.
In Pride you would be correct. Despite the frequent insistence by Matt Hume that the fight was judged as a whole and you couldn't steal a fight by finishing stronger, exactly that happened often.
