You know, I have no idea how many he was actually sentenced to. He’s become a career criminal at this point. He did the first 8 year stretch then got out and was working for an apartment complex as a HVAC guy. He stole money from them and went back to prison. I think he’s back in now for drug charges.
He’s reached the point of his life where he’s been in prison longer than he’s been out.
Yea there’s tons of factors that can happen at sentencing. He could have got 20 years with 8 suspended. That means he actually serves 8 years. But then he has 4 years of parole and the additional 8 years over his head. He probably got something like that, that’s why he’s always in jail now. Very hard to beat a sentence like that without reoffending for stupid little shit. Sentences like that makes it where you’re always in jail for like 2-3 months, get out, do something stupid like petty shoplifting and do another 2-3 months, rinse and repeat. Can be stupid shit like not checking in with your PO, or failing a drug test. Probation/Parole violations can easily destroy a person’s life.

We have a local judge who once stabbed her husband in the shoulder and had a standoff with the cops for a few hours years before she became a judge. She just got reelected this year. So Mayweather has a pretty high ceiling.
