Conor McGregor has been firing shots at Justin Gaethje, following the new BMF champ’s UFC 291 victory over Dustin Poirier. Now, the Irishman is giving his guarantee for a potential fight between the two.
It was just a matter of minutes between Gaethje head kicking Poirier unconscious, and McGregor calling for a fight with the new BMF champ. Despite the fact that the former champ-champ is still awaiting re-entry into the USADA drug testing pool, and the talks of a fight with Michael Chandler, he was quick to shift his focus to Gaethje in the wake of UFC 291.
Conor McGregor Guarantees A Quick KO
At the post-fight press conference, Justin Gaethje shot down the idea of fighting Conor McGregor, citing the many times that he had tried fighting the Irishman in the past. However, that did nothing to stop McGregor from still calling for the fight.
In fact, he took things a step further, firing off a social media post, responding to Gaethje denying interest in a fight. Here, he gave a bold prediction for how he sees a fight between the two playing out.
There seems to be a mixed amount of interest in this fight, with a portion of the fan base seemingly growing tired of McGregor calling for fights without taking the necessary steps to compete. Moreover, it seems that the former featherweight and lightweight champion has moved on from the idea of fighting Michael Chandler, a decision that is also rubbing some the wrong way.
With this massive UFC 291 victory, Justin Gaethje has cemented himself as the next contender for the lightweight title. However, with Islam Makhachev set to defend his belt against Charles Oliveira at UFC 294, perhaps there is an opening for a fight between he and Conor McGregor in the meantime
Obnoxious
You cant Guarantee a Potential McNutjob
This guy is so annoying
guy aint ever fighting and if he does is getting flatlined by anyone in top 10
The best way for Connor the fighter to earn back fight fans respect is to shut up and compete. The best thing for Connor the brand is to keep people interested in him. I think he’s taking some cues from Floyd here, who remains in the public consciousness long after his best competitive years. But Floyd stays in by competing (even against ridiculous competition) and, unlike Connor, maintains a practice of staying sharp in the gym always. Floyd has always been comfortable in absolute chaos. But chaos appears to follow Connor around and take away any chance of him being a high level athlete. He’s too busy acting like a fool and playing himself.
It must truly eat away at him that everyone used to call him out for a big payday and now he’s the one having to call people out on Twitter…and then Gaethje dismisses his callout.
Dude is obviously rich as fuck, but he craves attention and him not getting it is a huge shot to his ego.
I hope that scumbag never fights again. The world is done with Conor McFuckface.
Delusional fool once again riding the coattails of men who are actually accomplishing something.
When was the last time this windbag stopped anyone with one shot, Aldo?
Gaetje would batter him
I actually want it to happen just so we can see conor get decimated
I forgot to add again lol
I feel like Gaethje would rather fight for the title. Either way, Conor’s best shot at relevancy is taking the Chandler fight. He wins that and the UFC will leap at the chance to feed him to Islam.
Other than that, Dustin would probably take a fourth fight with him after that KO loss just for the money.
If I was advising Connor, and he actually wanted to fight, I’d give him a few tune up fights. Maybe some in the gym bouts with NDAs drawn up even and then a knock the rust off bout or two. Everyone near his weight is an absolute killer. Maybe Tony Furgeson would be a good choice. Still dangerous but not quite the top tier anymore.
It’s hard for me to imagine him beating Chandler in his first match back if at all.
Would be crazy if conor snipes Chandler coming in, but conor is 34, addict, his best day are over, he prob would get sniped by chandler lol
nobody mentions the chronic arthritis condition he has in his ankles.
He’s finished as an MMA fighter.
he should fight Perry in BKFC .Dana and Feldman should team up and co promote an event together.
Gaethje’s response was perfect. Saying he doesn’t care about Conor anymore. That’s gotta hurt the narcissist in Conor so bad
We the hardcore fans do not give a shit about this guy anymore. The ufc was going strong before him, it’ll continue to go strong without him
Unless he’s keeping his championship training regimen super secret, all I see McGregor doing night and day is drinking and Tweeting. It’s beyond pathetic at this point, sadly.
