Meathead vs Shaub Rescheduled For UFC 165

A heavyweight matchup originally intended for next week's UFC on FOX 8 event will now take place instead at September's UFC 165 event, as Matt Mitrione (6-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) faces Brendan Schaub (9-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC).

Canadian reporter Dave Diebert first revealed the new date for the contest, which was pulled when Mitrione was injured in training. Schaub quickly took to Twitter to confirm the switch.

Featuring a pair of championship matchups, "UFC 165: Jones vs. Gustafsson" takes place Sept. 21 at Toronto's Air Canada Centre. The evening's main card airs on pay-per-view following preliminary bouts that air on FOX Sports 1 and stream on Facebook.

Mitrione and Schaub, housemates on Season 10 of "The Ultimate Fighter," the heavyweight edition of the show, have been going back and forth on Twitter in a recently established grudge – mild as it may be.

Mitrione was going after his second straight win after back-to-back losses, his first setbacks as a pro. At UFC on FUEL TV 9 in February, he knocked out Philip De Fries in just 19 seconds. But two days later, he ran into a little trouble when he called transgender fighter Fallon Fox a "lying, sick, sociopathic, disgusting freak." That got him a temporary suspension and a fine by the UFC. But that suspension was lifted when the fight with Schaub was announced.

Schaub is looking to build on the strength of a UFC 157 win over Lavar Johnson. He previously had dropped back-to-back fights with first-round knockout losses to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Ben Rothwell.

With the addition to the card, UFC 165 now includes:

Champ Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson - for light-heavyweight title
Interim champ Renan Barao vs. Eddie Wineland - for interim bantamweight title
    Myles Jury vs. Mike Ricci
    Matt Mitrione vs. Brendan Schaub
    Ivan Menjivar vs. Norifumi Yamamoto
    Nandor Guelmino vs. Daniel Omielanczuk
    Chris Clements vs. Stephen Thompson
    Mark Bocek vs. Michel Prazeres
    Mitch Gagnon vs. Dustin Kimura

Card needs one or two more main card fights.

Atleast one more big main card fight, could see Shaub/Meathead and Ricci/Jury as the first two main card fights.  With two title fights and one more big fight they can get away with Meathead and Ricci/Jury on the main card.

Maybe Punk/Grant.
