Why would you say that? Perry was the first mma fighter to use the rule set to win imo. He controlled Seals almost the entire time. If the clinch or time xonroled in the clinch or punches while in the clinch mean anything then Perry won no question.

Same thing applies to offense. Boxing gloves cover for radius with punches but I do admit it makes harder since the gloves also cover more defensively
