Not really a fact per se, but I just thought of this: Jose Aldo is the only champ in the UFC that could challenge the title-holder in the weight class above his and be favoured to win.
That's impressive by itself, and even more impressive when you consider that LW is probably the most or second most talent-rich division in the UFC.
Personally I think Aldo is underrated (or at least under-appreciated) by much of the MMA community and this just speaks to that.

I don't see Bendo taking him down and I certainly don't see Bendo out-striking Aldo. I struggle to see a way in which Bendo beats Aldo.
He wouldn't be favoured. The fact that it would be competitive has more to do with the 10 lbs. weight gap vs. the 15 lbs. weight gap between the higher weight classes.
I think they would certainly be the closest odds, but based on bendo's size advantage and wrestling, I'd have to imagine the oddsmakers would have him as a slight fav, somewhere around -120.
I also agree that Aldo takes that fight though.

Aldo is a beast, he'd give bendo all kinds of problems. Faster, better striking technique, KO power. Jose Aldo at LW is a monster in my opinion. One of my favorite fighters, been watching him since he fought Brookins in the WEC.

He's saying Henderson would be a slight favorite over Aldo. There's a chance he's right - the line would be close. Nobody in their right mind would think Henderson would be a slight favorite over GSP. GSP at least -300.

Almost every contender does in every wgt class. i started a thread much like this. I think Jose Aldo is the best p4p fighter around. He's extremely well rounded. People say his ground hasn't been tested, bullshit. Mike brown tested it and got his back taken, GnP'd and choked. Yeah same guy that beat Faber twice. Then his stand up speaks for itself. OP your SN is what Faber was saying when he fought Aldo ;)
