I've made a few bucks betting on MMA fights for fun with friends. I'm thinking about possible betting on fights but I'm not too familiar with the whole thing. I know BODOG is a part of MMA betting but I don't know any other reliable place that takes MMA bets (that also has good rates)
For those of you who are betting on fights, is there a particular place I should bet which offers good rates and is reliable?
5 dimes, bookmaker, and bodog are all pretty good.
I use BetUs as well but some people don't like it. I've never had a problem.

I just checked out BETUS and it seems to have better rates than the others for the SHO GUN Machida fight. Thanks buddy.
I would stay away from parlays in general. I started out with 100 bucks in bodog to use for parlays and 100 bucks in sportsbook for straitbets. My bodog account is now at 0.00 with 10 dollars pending and my sportsbook account is up to almost 800 since starting 6 months ago

I'm canadian - not sure but I think BODOG is stricly for the US
I don't mean to jack your thread... But how does MMA betting work? Like what are parlays and those things work how do odds work and that kind of stuff?
like in all betting the odds work so that the great majority canNOT make money.
The more you get into parlays the worse odds you are getting but in return you get much higher possible payouts (up to 100,000 for a 1 dollar bet on sportsbook)
My advice would be to stick with strait betting and solid underdogs and even matches only. Do not bet favorites unless u are betting anderson to beat vitor because vitor actually has no chance
www.bestfightodds.com use it before you make your bet.
2bh.org we talk about fights / bets a bit in forum when ufc rocks around.

thank u, very helpful
BetUS is ok but it's annoying the way you have to withdraw your money so I just wasted it in the Casino. I'd personally avoid it.
PaddyPower, Stan James, Bookmaker etc are all good.
I like Paddy Power as it has round betting etc. and KO betting and all that jazz.

That just means you suck at making parlay bets, bro!

This is probably the worst advice ever.
The odds word so that the bookies don't lose. They don't care how many people are making money as long as they are too.
Straight bets suck. If you are betting a heavy favorite, then you have to risk so much more to get a decent payout. I think parlays are definitely the way to go. For example if there are 2 fights on a card that you are absolutely sure about, you should do a 2 fight parlay. You will get better odds than betting on both individually. I do straight bets occasionally, but only on underdogs, like Silva against Jardine. That's the only straight bet I've done in a long time. Mostly I do parlays and I've been doing well lately. Obviously you don't want to parlay every fight on every card. I usually find 2 or 3 or maybe 4 fights that I'm certain about the outcome, then put a decent amount on a single parlay, then a little more on a round of 2's. For example, looking at 104, 2 fights stand out that I will definitely be parlaying, Johnson and Valasquez. I don't see any possibility of either guy losing, so I'm going to put a larger bet on this parlay (larger for me). Then I make some small parlays for all or most of the fights. It's kind of like a lottery ticket. You probably won't win, but if you do you'll get a large return amd the cost is coming from the winnings on my sure bets. I hit one on the Franklin vs. Hendo card for a 23:1 payout. I only risked 5 dollars and got back 115.
What I mean to say is that parlays are not bad, unless you are stupid with them. It is pretty rare that an underdog comes along in a sure fight. In fact the T. Silva is the only one I can remember seeing recently that I would consider a sure bet. So you can end up letting the odds lure you into making bets on fighters that won't win just because there would be a large payout. Most of the time when I see an underdog, I think that guy is an underdog for a reason, and I usually don't feel extremely confident betting on him. But if you are good enough to recognize the good UD bets when you see them then more power to you.
Oh and I strongly disagree that Belfort has no chance at all against Franklin. I think he has very little chance, but I think he has a better chance than anyone Silva has faced in the UFC so far, except maybe Hendo.
oops meant Belfort vs. Silva
