there seems to be a recurring trend as of late about people calling mma a fad.a trend.lame.that mma is getting worse and is no good.all from individuals who apparently forgot about the "dark ages of nhb."
mma is becoming the nickelback of sports?come on.nothing will ever be as bad or comparably pathetic to nickelback.
i don't see it like this at all.i love mma.i love what it has become, and where it's going.i remember being in high school, practically being shit out of luck as far as watching the ufc if you didn't have satellite.word was spreading on the internet about a promotion from japan that had huge financial backing, incredibly gifted athletes from all around the world, with the main draw being a japanese ex-pro wrestler that was walking through the gracies.nobody at that time ever heard of the all powerful god-like gracie family losing any fights.hard to believe if you had no access to these events, and being forced to wait 4 years later until they released the card on VHS.you remember vhs right?it was the thing before blue ray and before dvd.
the thing is,mma should have been at the point it is now, back then.well over a decade ago.
at a time where the mass-media was still using the tired cliches such as referring to mma as "human cock fighting",and on the brink of extinction with barely any legalization in the united states,i love the fact that i can go into a buffalo wild wings with my friends, and watch the ppv on CABLE.
maybe sometimes it's easy to forget or take for granted everything we had to deal with as fans, but i haven't.
i'm going to be a dick and ttt my own thread
