Damn, these big UFC fights have been incredible 1 after another. What a great time to be an MMA fan. Congrats to Oliveria, Khamzat, and Jiri. Its insane to watch how many turned out to recieve Jiri as their hero. Its an eye opener. It makes you realise just how big MMA is outside of our little USA bubble. The US isnt the only place that exists. MMA might even be bigger in the Czech Republic than in the US. And now they have their official hero in Jiri

Khabib had many holes. Khabib simply spent 90% of his career avoiding people who could exploit his many holes. Khabib’s positioning was shit/his footwork was Jon Jones level of atrocious. His hand positioning/guard was Jon Jones level garbage, and he couldnt punch himself out of a wet paper bag. Khabib just never fought anyone who could keep the fight standing. Poirier and Gaethje were both whopping his ass on the feet. Conor was just a drunken bum for the Khabib fight and is the only person Khabib ever out struck completely.
The UFC match makers have been on fucking fire with all these big match ups being made which are turning into all time classic battles. Good, fair, and equal match ups being made. Matches being made for clashes of styles and entertainment sake, instead of being made for the purpose to fuck over a fighter and put 1 fighter at a huge stylistic disadvantage. Thats the way it shouldve always been - matches being made for fans and entertainment sake first and foremost alone. Dana has it right

Khabib had more power than you give him credit for. He cleanly KOed Tavares. Mcgregor had an exceptional chin and after khabib froze him with a level change he almost knocked his head off. Just because you don’t like him doesn’t mean he wasn’t great. His striking got better each fight.

2 of the judges gave Gaethje the 1st round over Khabib, so that is whats official. Theres no debate to be had. Gaethje won the 1st round over Khabib.
It reminds me of Anderson’s fights vs Weidman. Anderson is getting the shit beat out of him on the feet, but because “his body language” was “more confident,” “he was winning.”

Khabib bends, rolls, and moves his head offline really well (i.e Khabib was a lot slippery and harder to hit clean than people thought), BUT Khabib NEVER held his hands in the correct position i.e his pure boxing fundamentals/guard/high guard was PURE THRASH.
^Khabib steps in with his jab tall so Gaethje was back stepping and pulling Khabib into monster counter rights over his jab (positioning from inside slip) all night. Khabib has a hell of a chin. Because otherwise Gaethje wouldve knocked him out on several occasions
^Gaethje was circling past Khabib’s lead shoulder and constantly turning Khabib out of position (i.e walking Khabib into shots and pulling Khabib into shots). Regardless if Gaethje was moving too much and some times taking himself out of position to really land that big shot and back Khabib off, regardless if Gaethje “looked tired,” only punches gets scored and Gaethje was out striking the shit out of Khabib. The fact is, if If the fight remained a pure striking contest Gaethje wouldve walked all over Khabib and eventually broken Khabib down.
