MMA returns to Long Island on November 16 at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue. This event is round 2 of a 3 round tournament, and it's got NY fight fans buzzing! Round 1 took place on October 24 and was a huge success. Round 2 looks to be even bigger and better, so don't miss this show! New Yorkers have waited long enough for MMA--and here it is.

About MMA Platinum Gloves Fight Championships:
The MMA Platinum Gloves Fighting Championships (Platinum Gloves) was developed to showcase amateur MMA talent. We are fully sanctioned through the UMMAF (USA MMA KI Federation, visit usammakif.org for info)
We run full tournaments with the goal of sending the winners to UMMAF sanctioned Regional and National Tournaments.
Tournament and Non-Tournament Fights
Our plan is to be the Bellator of amateur MMA. We plan to run 4 weight class tournaments per season plus have non-tournament fights at each event. There will be 12-15 fights per event.
For the tournaments, each fighter is ranked based solely on their performance in the cage, earning more points for a knockout or submission than a decision win. Top ranked fighters may qualify for the UMMAF regional tournament (all expenses paid). Fighters who win the regionals may qualify for the World Championships. The 2014 World Championships will be held in Las Vegas.
