Yep, informed (AKA "brainwashed") with a lot of failed, leftover, cold war era, Soviet propaganda. You see a lot of that on the "left-coast". That's why you see that mentality mostly in the media and entertainment industries. If you want to spread propaganda, that's where you start. Convince them and they will do the work for you.
Just like the propaganda we spread to convince their citizens that Democracy was best way to go. The difference is that we were right, we spread it more effectively, and most importantly, we won and the iron curtain fell.

They both have stupid ideas. Monson may have more horsepower upstairs, but they are two sides of an angry, clueless coin who have decided to demonize the other instead of looking at things logically and conceding that the answer could be somewhere in the middle.

Liophy- Well, i dont know about Brian Stann, but every military organization try as hard as possible to brainwash their soldiers. Thats by definition. Brainwashed soldiers are the best. Otherwise they could create problems.
Brian Stann is exemplary UFC fighter, he is saying all the right things and doing the correct things. So i have no reason to believe he was any different in the army.
Give me some examples of the brainwashing you KNOW is going on. If you mean how they teach you to listen to your superiors' lawful orders, well most companies would be guilty of "brainwashing" too.

Marines/soldiers etc don't need to be put on a pedestal, but they shouldn't be stereotyped as stupid and brainwashed either. I spent 4 years as a grunt in the marines and I'm in my 3rd year in college. Let me tell you there are just as many dumbasses in college as there is in the marines. And you want to talk about "brainwashing", I get my professors political views shoved down my throat every day at school no matter what class I'm in.

I don't know about any brainwashing, but any fighter who goes 5-foot-9 and spends his entire career fighting at HW has no brain.
