With the takedowns and the few times he had Fig hurt, I had Moreno slightly winning the fight. A draw is still an OK decision.

No, its not on its own. If you control the other guy, then you control the other guy. None of Moreno’s tds really established control. Fig got up from them all and had his feet pushed off on Moreno’s hips right away to create space or scramble.

Not to mention the brief takedowns were to avoid the exchanges he was losing on the feet. If you’re going to score the takedowns that were simply to not get punched in the face anymore, you’ve also gotta equally judge Fig getting up to avoid being on the bottom.
Those takedowns were total nonfactors last night.

Fig won 3 rounds, I had it a draw with the point deduction.

What if you get a takedown, then you get almost guillotined until the fight is back up, who is in control then? Fig was better in every position. The only thing Moreno may have on him is cardio and chin

Those takedowns were really nice regardless of damage landed or his ability to hold Fig down. I didn't like (for Fig's sake) how Fig kept trying that close range elbow and Moreno would just rap him up and immediately take him down

Yes Fig shouldn’t have compromised his position in close over and over. That said I don’t think Moreno controlled Fig on any TD.
